I still don’t understand how this app i have invested so much money in doesn’t work as well as free apps on the iPad ecosystem. It’s a constant battle to use it, doesn’t work consistently at all, whether app or web service. Since we are a small church, i cannot afford to invest in Accordance to really test it, and don’t have time to learn a new system right now. Please tell me there is a new app coming soon. Sorry I mostly complain on here, but its a constant battle. Even if i reset the entire iOS operating system itself, logos doesn’t run any better. 1/2 the time i cant even select text in a bible window unless i go to another app and come back or quit logos and reopen. Doing that over and over gets frustrating. Just wondering is it just me?

I have last years iPad Pro 12.9 wtih 1TB storage.

Most people seem to find the Mobile apps functional at least most of the time. Were it not so, this forum would be drowning in complaints. Unfortunately, I have no idea what is causing the problems you referenced.

    Hi Robert

And welcome to the forum community. With a post count of just five messages you hardly register as a persistent complainer so don't worry about getting a reputation. Indeed some of us regulars here do our fair share of complaining.

There are many folks here who would like to help out, we enjoy it.

Even more than in the desktop world, where there is a good deal of overlap, the mobile camp is divided between iOS and Android. Many of us have little or no experience the other system.

In order for us to help we really need to know the OS and Device that you are struggling with.

Often screen shots showing the problem in context are the key to getting the right advice.

Please give us the information about your device and perhaps some more specifics about the problem and we will do our best to advise you.

He might be a bit miffed, since he got instructed to repost on the '9' forum, instead of the '8' (very, very important, although technically I'm on '8', not having purchased the mobile features for '9'). And after also posting his specs twice, he had to also explain what 12.9 means (to dummy me).

And since several of his issues are long-standing, he didn't see a need to start over, one more time. Which I might had, is hard to reproduce, since you need to know the bug-sequence.

The package and features you purchase isn't really relevant unless your issue is about one of those features. All that matters is the build of the app you are using.

Gee, Alabama ... you're not doing FL Marketing any favors. Smiling. Of course, who would actually know that (I'm hinting at the silliness of all the little this and that's the non-communicational FL exceeds all fond hopes with). Yesterday was a Bible owner not familiar with the RI-rules.

I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues, and people on here will be extremely helpful if you mention specific problems. I certainly don't have the problems you mention on an ageing iPad Air 2 with 64GB of memory.

Without wishing to insult your intelligence, have you downloaded the resources (and particularly Bibles) you are trying to work with? The only time I get the sort of issues you are mentioning is if I'm working with a resource that isn't downloaded to my device, particularly if I'm operating over a poor internet connection. To make sure the resource is downloaded, tap the menu (three buttons in the top-right corner), tap "Book info" and tap "Download". If this says "Remove" rather than "Download" I'm barking up the wrong tree and sorry for wasting your time.

I wouldn't suggest downloading your whole library, but it is worth making sure all the resources you work with regularly are downloaded. There are ways of managing that as a bulk exercise rather than doing it one-by-one which I'm sure we'd be happy to help you with if that would help.

  • I am using the latest of everything. iOS 14.7, the latest Logos (i am about to delete and reinstall again).

Note I didn’t say it was not functional, its just the functions work inconsistently. Linking two bibles won’t scroll together. (Will try to attach video) or will scroll inconsistently. When i Cmd + tab or switch between apps, the text of the Bible or window in logos resets and i have to scroll all the way back to where i was. Targets for bible links are way off or dont work (which also happens with Logos 9 on Mac). Many of the features of the app become almost useless when there is no WiFi (when on missions or retreats and there is no internet) especially on the iPad/iPhone. It’s slow, it bogs and many times i have to bail to free apps just to read a bible or copy some text. It’s just really frustrating. And its been years. Years. going on a decade now of calls and reaching out to Logos/FL. There is not a lot of apps i will spend $8 dollars on, much less 800. I have high expectations of the latter. I loved the old app before FL took over. They need to re-design this thing IMO. If the following video shows up, you see bad rendering on the text, it wont let me select, the scrolling isnt working, etc.

  • No worries about insults, there needs to be intelligence for insult to occur lol. All the resources are downloaded. That’s a first up, because its hard to use this when they aren’t especially with some of the places i go with it.

Your video shows that the bibles are NOT linked, so the behavior I saw was expected. Were you trying to show the link not working?

Faithlife = Logos. Did you mean since they took over from Wordsearch?

    Greetings Robert

Please forgive me it there is a post on another forum that makes matters clearer. I tend to only frequent the forums dealing with issues with the latest version of the software engine (and select those using the latest version of the OS). My memory is not good enough to deal with historic systems. :-)

I gather you have problems with both your laptop version and the iPad version?

It would probably be best not to conflate them but to deal with iPad issues in this forum and the Laptop issues in the Logos 9 Desktop forum.

You mention 'the old app' and I am not clear what this refers to. Have you transitioned from Wordsearch or are you a long term Logos user?

I watched the video you posted but am unsure of the fault that you were trying to illustrate - please will you elaborate in the light of Alabama post above.

By the way, although reinstalling the app on an iPad can help at times it is generally not a panacea and very often a waste of time.
