Freezing on home screen

I often close my computer or minimize Logos when I am done working or when I have to leave for a bit.  Often when I come back to the computer Logos seems to be freezes.  It doesn't require a force quit, but I have to go to the menu and select quit logos, then restart.  None of the links or cards will respond. Anyone else experienced this and have you found a solution?

Thanks!

No Justin; though my habit is to keep Logos full screen in its own space. It sits there while I work in other spaces and I never think to either minimise it or  close the computer.

I do tend to 'Sleep' the computer last thing at night.

Again on the MacBook, Logos sits in its own space and springs into life when I open the lid or move to its space.

Ok, Thanks.  Hopefully it will quit doing that with a future update to Logos 9.

    Justin,

I am sure there are others with a different opinion, but I would strongly recommend making a point of quitting Logos at the end of each session or at the end of the day.

I don't recommend leaving Logos running for multiple hours while unused on any computer ever, even in the background, unless you are giving an update a chance to complete.

Thank you Joe, I will make that my practice.  This has been happening at times even if the computer sits for 30 minutes or so and goes idle.  It's not a huge problem to shut it down at the end of day, I just prefer not to wait for the start-up if I am only going to be away for a bit.

    Any particular reason why Joe?

It is something I have been doing for years with no problems that I am aware of

Ditto in Windows; usually 2x instances in different User accounts.

Ditto again. I'll admit, a complex app like Logos seems ripe for disaster, after running it open for months at a time. I restart it to get it to let go of slowly-accumulating memory ever now and then.  At my funeral, the question will be 'Do you think we should shut down her Logos?'. Nah, keep it going.

    Hi Graham,

I simply advise this because I have helped many customers who had a variety of problems after leaving Logos open for a considerable length of time, especially in Mac.  Simply restarting Logos resolved these problems.

Also, each time you start Logos, it does a diagnostic check.  While I can understand this program sometimes takes a while to open, I don't think it's a good idea to go days/weeks without the benefit of that check.

However, it's hard to argue with your results.  It sounds like keeping Logos open works fine for you. I don't have a problem with having no problems.
