Attn: KS4J, Mark Smith, et al: Feedback wanted on highlighting color updates in 9.7 Beta 4

In the 9.7 beta 1 announcement thread, several people commented on regressions in highlighting styles.

The main issue seems to be the way styles were rendered when applied via a Visual Filter document/query, which we think we have fixed:

Some Logos 9.7 Beta 1 highlighting background colors in search results are visibly different (darker) than Highlighting Style preview: e.g. Present - Tense, Imperfect - Tense, Future - Tense

Inserted graphics appear a bit larger in 9.7 Beta 1.

Noticed Verbum 9.6 SR-1 and Logos 9.7 Beta 1 have background color for selected style if edit, then click back (background indicator does not change back to black, even after selecting a different style).

Editing highlighting styles shows Logos 9.7 Beta 1 has 36 choices while Verbum 9.6 SR-1 had 32 choices (like additional row). Color order seems reversed (so comparing between 9.6 SR-1 and 9.7 Beta 1 was a bit intriguing).

This has been fixed in 9.7 Beta 4.

It's possible the VF issue was masking other problems. How do your highlights, especially custom styles, look after the beta 4 fix?

System Highlighting Palette Emphasis Markup has On Fire style (Red Bold Text with Yellow Glow), which was copied for Imperatives in Greek and Hebrew. Logos 9.7 Beta 4 has a yellow thickness mismatch between resource rendering and Highlighting Preview.

On Fire style preview has more Yellow around letters than rendering in resource (personal preference is preview change to match resource)

Yellow Glow style preview has more Yellow around letters than rendering in resource (personal preference is preview change to match resource)

Outline style in Light mode has dark outline around light colored letter. In dark mode, Outline style is effectively Black foreground text (hard to read without White outline around letter).

The problem with single line highlighting remains. It is really faint. In fact, the screen capture can't even pick some of it up.

The problem with Factbook underlining is even worse. As it is, it is so hard to see I might as well never turn it on. (It actually shows up slightly better in the screen capture.)

Dark mode on macOS 11.5.1 replicated Factbook underlining tending to blend in with the bottom of letters while single line highlighting using styles in Emphasis Markup are readable:

I am running 9.6 on my desktop computer. Here are screenshots of highlighting on that installation.

Single line highlights are easy to spot:

We need your help determining if there are any other issues with highlighting.

The only difference between 9.6 SR-2 and Beta 4 is the appearance of the Natural Border line which went from concave to convex in the palette and affects all resource highlights with that style.

I prefer the original concave, although it could be set a couple of points closer to the text (without touching!).
