An update to a resource has caused a crash on launch in Logos/Verbum for those who have received the update. We have since updated the file with a version that will not cause a crash.

Verifying that one is crashing as a result of this file requires inspecting the logs. Click here to learn how to enable logging. Once the application has crashed with logging enabled open the Logos.log/Verbum.log file and towards the end you will see a section that looks similar to the sections below immediately above a section that has been indented.

Windows

2021-08-17 18:49:31.9075 ERROR 13 ApplicationUtility | Unhandled exception in async work System.FormatException: The string 'bible+lxx2.40.1.1-41.16.25' has an invalid format.

macOS

2021-08-18 11:15:33.5128 ERROR 18 ApplicationUtility | Unhandled exception in async work System.FormatException: The string 'bible+lxx2.40.1.1-41.16.25' has an invalid format.

Those that have received the version of the resource that causes this particular crash will need to delete it and allow Logos/Verbum to download a new one. Below are instructions for doing so:

Windows

1. Quit Logos.
2. Enter “Windows key + R” into the search box from the task bar.
3. Type %localappdata% Into the Open box and click OK.
4. Open Logos > Data > Random folder > ResourceManager > Resources.
5. Delete CSGLXXDA.lbsclv.
6. Restart Logos with logging enabled.

macOS

1. Quit Logos.
2. Open Finder.
3. Press CMD+Shift+G
4. Type ~/Library/Application Support/Logos4
5. Click Go.
6. Open Data > Random folder > ResourceManager > Resources.
