How to add random thoughts to notes
Some I'm using the Lectio Divina Work flow and loving it... as I am studying one text... or walking through my day, I can think of favorite verses or verses that I am curious about or whatever... I dont remember whole verses. I remember phrases or parts.
As I look the notes tool AND the options for the notebook types... I dont see any that will just let me add a random thought. Am I missing something?

I don’t understand - we can write anything in a note.

Maybe it's me... I was doing the Lectio Divina thing this morning and thought, I should add the verse that includes, "thou I see through a glass darkly and the verse in Genesis that speaks of God walking through the garden to chat with Adam and Eve before the fall. So I look up, how to get to the notes... window... and then how to create a new notebook.
So when you get to the new notebook drop down menu...Bible passages, sermon... what ever the options are, I don't see one that says... just plain notes. I read the descriptions of some of them that seem like they might work...
I tried to make a Bible passages notebook and title it "verse to look up for Lectio Divina"... and then add those verse phrases... On the computer
But I don't see that note or notebook in my notes list on my phone. And it didn't seem like the information had gone in on the computer.
My objective is... while I'm out and about or 3am and something says... write this down... to have a notebook in my notes... that I can easily write the thought down... and get back to it later.

I'm not sure what menu you are referring to here - can you provide a screenshot (use the paperclip icon in the forum editor)?
When I want to create a new notebook I do it in the Notes Tool and click the "+" sign
This just gives me the option to specify the name of the notebook - nothing else
If I then open that notebook, I can create new notes with any content I want
It sounds like you are doing something very different - please advise.

I couldn't get the computer to do a screen shot. On the left is what I get when I open notes from the tool tabs tab.
Yes - and it shows a number of notes that seem to have been created as a result of answering questions / making observations when working through the Lectio Divina workflow.
On the right is what I got when I opened tools tab
On the right is what I got when I right clicked on Docs and opened as a floating wondow
I think the second of those statements is correct - it is showing the Docs menu

The screenshot with the New dropdown menu open is the menu for creating new Docs, not the menu for creating Notebooks.

What happens if you open the Notes Tool, click the icon with three horizontal lines to the left of the Search Box in the Notes Tool? This should show you a sidebar with the icon on the top right being the one to show all your notebooks.
If you then follow the steps outlined above you should get what I think you are looking for.

Yes, they could but thankfully they did not. [;)]
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

The lack of usability is my major complaint about Logos. But even when GUI inconsistencies are pointed out, they don't get fixed:
