After upgrading to 9.8 b2, the Mounce Expository dictionary NO longer follows! The ESL still works correctly but Mounce no longer displays when I click on a word in a tagged version (in my case both the KJV and CSB).
Bob
Can someone tell me if I am doing something wrong or is this a bug?
I assume that you checked the priority on Mounce. Can you provide some example words where Mounce does not show and tell us what does show instead.
Further investigation reveals that it works fine when I am in the NT. For instance, I was in Galatians (doing sermon work) and it works normally. I am using two translations primaarily, the KJV and the CSB. Then I went to Daniel chapter 3, switched Mounce to Hebrew-English Dictionary and it DOES NOT work!
That sounds to me that Mounce is not the highest priority resource with a Hebrew index/headwords.
I will check on that. I changed nothing and it worked previously. The only real change was 9.8 b2
Hmmm, not able to find priority settings except for text NOT resources.
It is in the library panel - look under the kebab (panel menu)
Then I went to Daniel chapter 3
Is it specifically Daniel 3? This is in Aramaic
Does it work as you expected in Daniel 1?
Oh my! How could I have forgotten that! Graham, it works just fine in Daniel 1. It slipped my memory that Daniel begins Aramaic in Daniel 2:4 until chapter 7. Thanks for the gentle reminder. Sorry for the false alarm!
M.J., thank you for your time in trying to help. You taught me something knew about Logos and I thank you! Although the fix was due to operator error I now know how to check on some of the more inner workings of Logos.
Oh my! How could I have forgotten that! Graham, it works just fine in Daniel 1
Glad you have it working now Bob
Incidentally I didn't remember either (although I should have!)
I (re)discovered it when trying to work out what was happening. The click action is actually doing a Lookup - so when I right-clicked a work and looked at the Lookup options I saw references to Aramaic lexicons which jogged my memory!
