Differences between Logos and The Complete Biblical Library

I get that Logos is a software program, which uses resources
&
The Complete Biblical Library is a collection of resources that are being added to the Logos resources family
So
The question... what does adding the Complete Biblical Library to your Logos resources
Totally depends on what resources you already have in Logos
But
From those of you that are familiar with both
If your not a preacher/teacher/ in theology school
but you have a pretty deep library already
(hopefully there will be dynamic pricing so I wont have 2 of the same resources)
whats the best way to look at the resources that The Complete Biblical Library will add?
I'm already in the Prepub but I'm questioning if the over lap is so great that it's not really worth it...

Most collections are sold on the basis that you only pay for the resources that you don't already own.

Look at the resources that the Complete Biblical Library will add.
Decide which resources you actually need.
You're human, so give a little slack to yourself, and decide witch resources you really want.
Find out how much the two lines above would cost if bought separately.
If cheaper separately buy that way. If cheaper as the CBL buy that way.

The CBL adds an OT and NT Study Bible (light commentary), their own Hebrew and Greek dictionaries, a harmony of the gospels, snippets of various translations where verses are translated differently, their own interlinear and a Greek Grammar. If you have a decent library with study bibles, original language dictionaries, interlinears, harmony of the gospels and various translations of the Bible, then paying almost 1K for this collection would be over paying for something you already own but with different resources that still accomplish the same goal/purpose.

I own the CBL in Accordance and even accordance decided not to add the interlinear and the harmony of the gospels because that’s something the software already has.

But if you really want it (since it’s a classic collection of resources) and you have the money to spend, then by all means buy it. As much as I would love to have it in Logos, I cannot justify spending $1000 for the collection when WORDsearch and Accordance had it for less.

Serious? $1,000? That kind of dinero, you can get some nice OL volumes, maybe a feature set, etc. The problem with CBL, is Faithlife isn't going to do serious tagging on it, going forward ... simply because the Logos resources are richer in taggability. The same problem happens in older Logos resources.

It’d be his choice 😂 I wouldn’t spend that kind of money when I got way more than the CBL for $199 in Accordance. $1000 could buy way better resources for sure 👍😁👌

I'm torn... I talked to my Logos rep today and she said that the materials found in CBL are licenses that Logos couldnt offer before... they didn't have the agreements to do so. So I questioned whats the difference between the interlinears that are in CBL and didn't really get an answer ...
The comment on Logos not tagging CBL resources as well as they do native logos resources was important...
I dont mind getting the commentaries that come with it IF they offer a different view point than the half dozen or so commentaries that I have. I know there are 3 or 4 different shall we say classes of commentaries ranging from more devotional to more technical and scholarly and I get that say, with Bibles, they all basically say the same thing, but the differences can be important...
For those that have more experience with commentaries than me... cause I have very little... I get that in a series ... one series may have a better commentary on a given book of the bible...
In a single volume commentary, some are more readable...
I saw a chart or a website that listed which commentaries are best in a given area... but how do you judge a commentary?

CBL doesn’t really have commentaries it’s just a Study Bible which contains notes for both OT and NT books. Since it’s a Study Bible format is not even listed in Best Commentaries dot com.

CBL is good maybe for a new convert who wants to start studying the Bible and wants something easy with a little bit of depth, not much.

This has been my impression as well. CBL provided a resource for WordSearch users that did many of the tasks that RI and tagging does in Logos Resources. It was designed as a print resource, rather than a dynamic (searches whatever is in your library at the time of a search).
