Having some trouble with downloading sources
Hi Folks,
I'm trying to download several books for class. I downloaded them on my iMac, but Logos isn't happy with my MBP. I keep getting a red exclamation mark and the books have been downloading for ~48 hours with no progress update. I know it would take me more than a day to read Church Dogmatics and really understand it, but the computer should be faster
I think I loaded the logs correctly below. I've reinstalled multiple times. Tried "update resources," reindexing, and downloading individual books with no success.

reinstalling the app seldom is a fix unless you are deleting all of the hidden items as well.

have you restarted your computer?
I see this in your log, but don't know if it is the issue or what to do about it:
2021-10-23 13:19:16.5181 ERROR 18 ApplicationUtility | Exception while syncing client: MobileResourceSyncItem ~InvalidOperationException: Unable to set item state (0 rows affected). SQL=update MobileResources set SyncState = @SyncState where SyncId = @ItemId, ItemId=17509549/LLS:9781433556760, SyncState=PendingSync
Perhaps someone else will have more luck.
As a side note: Is there a reason why you have not updated macOS?

Hi JT,
Thanks for the reply. I have restarted the computer. I don't actually know what the piece in the log you mentioned means. Coding is not my strong suit. I actually just looked at several of the log files and see errors all over the place. I just don't know what's causing them or how to fix them
I also don't know what you mean about not updating my macOS? I'm running BigSur 11.6.

He was referring to the fact that the log file shows the OS version as 10.16.0 (see top of log file). However, this is ok as it can Big Sur can report as being either 10.16 or 11.0 as per https://eclecticlight.co/2020/07/21/big-sur-is-both-10-16-and-11-0-its-official/

Moderate workaround. Still getting the ! but my downloads have at least shown up after deleting the Download and update manager folders. Perhaps a full on "clean install" is what's needed. That'll be after 12/4 and my final paper is due. For next week in class, I'll limp along.

For the downloads, those two folders will generally fix the issue. No need for a clean install down the track.
For the MobileResource sync error, check your devices at https://www.logos.com/account/devices
