I know using collections indiscriminately can slow Logos down. Is there a similar (although less severe) effect of using mytags?

The only overhead would be when you use it in a Search or PG as Logos has to build the resource info (the search itself should not be affected). The main difference is that resource info from a Collection is built/checked irrespective of use. This applies to any resource metadata, not just mytag.

This is what I understand from logs and use, so Faithlife should have the last say!

That's kind of what I suspected and very helpful. Thank you!

Not asked about, but for later searchers:

    - In mobile search, only collections are searchable; not myTags

    - In mobile library, resource filtering can be by myTag, but not collections

    - Both can only be defined in the desktop version. So, if you're mainly mobile, and FL ships (prepubs, journals, etc), collections have dynamic rules that can capture new additions without desktop access. myTags require intervention for each new add.

    - Finally, app.logos.com doesn't recgognize either one, whether searching or library filtering. And ignores any title edits.

I am not sure if this applies to everybody. I once had speed issues and was told to delete collections. I did this but the speed did not increase. So at the moment, I don't worry too much about having collections. They are a great tool.
