The Illustrated Life of Jesus - No color photos

Today "The Illustrated Life of Jesus" (ISBN: 9781433671364) which I had pre-ordered was released and downlaoded. But I was surprised to find out that photographs inside were not in colour as stated in the product information. I bought the book for the photographs and without the colour pics, the book isn’t worth much. Hope Faithlife is listening!

I concur, something got very wrong here.

The book starts with a chapter called "Features of The Illustrated Life of Jesus" which explicitly states it contains

A. A narrative of the life of Jesus by Herschel Hobbs based on A.T. Robertson’s Harmony of the Gospels.
B. Striking, full color photographs show the places important in Jesus’ life.
C. In depth articles from the Biblical Illustrator provide historical and cultural information which enhances understanding of the life of Jesus.
D. Newly-created maps show the geographical context of Jesus’ life and ministry.
E. A Scripture index enables the user to find the pages in the book that illuminate specific passages from the four Gospels.

but the photographs are black/white throughout, the maps same (and seemingly low-res, too) - this is not what is promised and what should be the content.

I received a reply from Faithlife:

》We have reported the black/white images to our specialist team! They will work with the publishers to see if we can update the images to color in the future, although we do not know when that change will occur.

Hope Faithlife would get it fixed soon..[;)]

If I remember correctly, this book came over from WS. I want to say that it was in color there but I could be wrong. Been a while since I looked at this one

Thanks for letting us know. There was a mismatch between the material given to us for production and the marketing copy.

We're working with the publisher to get updated images.

If I remember correctly, this book came over from WS.

Maybe for some- who could look it up in their WS software to check. I bought my edition in 2014, I'm pretty sure it was a "Vyrso" eBook at the time (the title no longer a link in my order history). I can't remember whether this had photographs and of which quality they were. However, the kindle edition seems to have colorful high-quality photos and maps, so I see no reason why the Logos edition shouldn't have those. So I do hope FL gets the right data from Holman and updates the book, it would be a shame otherwise.

I had emailed customer service and they gave a standard reply to give feedback to designated Faithlife emails. I had previously owned physical copy of it and know the worth of color pics/maps in it. Happy to note that product is being updated by Faithlife for color photographs.
