resource notes to resource notebook

It has been a long time.  But I swear once upon a time I had a setting that sent all highlights and notes in a particular resource to a corresponding notebook for that resource.  (IOW all of my highlights and notes in Calvin's institutes would go to a notebook named Calvin's institutes).

In recent days as I seek to streamline my workflow I've discovered that for a long time now notes have just been dropping into whatever notebook was last used.

I find that remarkably frustrating as I now have to remember each time I make a highlight to double check where it went.

So....

Am I crazy?

Am I missing the obvious?

Do I miss my hours I used to spend on these forums: Yes.  Yes I do.

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

Oh.  And Graham already answered my question.  And the rest of that thread filled in the blanks.

    ;-)

This was a feature under the old notes system using resource-specific notes documents.

You can still specify that highlights within a particular palette go to a specific notebook.

With the ability to filter the Notes Tool by resource it is possible - within the Tool - to easily see all notes and highlights that are in a particular resource but, I agree that having notes in specific notebooks is helpful

I tend to do that by explicitly specifying the notebook to use from within the context menu which covers most of my requirements.

And good to see that what I wrote there is consistent with my comments here!!
