New Computer
I'm planning to buy a new laptop computer and am looking for recommendations such as what to avoid and what is recommended for processors and ram to best facilitate windows 9. Is there still and issue with the intel 11th gen Iris xe? I'm still not able to run mobile ed videos on my HP Envy with that processor.
Thanks in advance
Bill

This is just MY experience, but for ME, Logos has run better on older refurbished business laptops and desktops, than a newer gaming laptop that cost much more.
I know enough about all this to know how much I do not know. I am not an expert. But I guess I am learning a little about what is easier for a non-expert to maintain. Even dirt cheap "toy" computers have run logos better than my gaming laptop that would overheat while idling.
Expensive hardware needed for gaming is not always needed for business and educational software. Unnecessary hardware needs drivers and can have bugs and incompatibility issues.
Newer machines sometimes have more incompatibility issues and bugs that older machines.
HP hasn't been a great brand for me. Best Buy sells a lot of HP, and has great sales. Over the years, the majority of devices that I have owned were HP devices from Best Buy. That didn't work out so well for me.

I found that setting Enable Hardware Acceleration to YES (in Program Settings) enabled those videos. But I had to set it back to NO for tools like Notes! I just updated to the latest graphics driver (from Intel) and I can now set it to YES for all tools/features. The original driver (March 2021) was also from Intel but you should try the latest driver from HP as they likely customized it.

I gather that you run Logos 9 on Windows! I run an 11th Gen Core i5, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD on Windows 11. Logos runs really fast due to the Core i5 and the SSD drive. Avoid hard drives and make sure the SSD is NOT on a SATA interface as the fastest ones run on PCIe NVME M.2. 16GB RAM is sufficient, whilst 512 GB is minimum size for the SSD.
Win 11 is quirky if you are familiar with Win 10, but I'm getting used to it.

It looks like you're more in line with Windows, but I have both a high end Dell laptop and a MacBook Pro and Logos runs better on the Mac than on Windows. A little snappier to load and runs searches/indexing/etc faster. But both are good.
