Omanson vs Metzger

What are the primary differences between A Textual Guide to the Greek New Testament: An Adaptation of Bruce M. Metzger’s Textual Commentary for the Needs of Translators by Roger L. Omanson (Editor) and A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament (UBS5) by Bruce M. Metzger? I do know that Omanson's work was based on Metzger's but I am not sure which is better to use and more credible in academia.

A bit of a moot point, Christian! If your professor tells you not to use a particular source, and the aim is to pass the course, you would be well advised to treat Omanson as 'not credible' until your own studies convince you otherwise and you are able to go over your professor's head with confidence.

It really matters not what any of us think. I am sure your professor will find us incredible too.

Yep. First rule of student-izing, is find the cheese. But using principles of Biblical Scholarship (using almost no data to make broad generalizations), the professor self-defines himself, irrespective of Omanson. Excites people hungry for labels.
