Logos 9 Morris Proctor Videos - blank

I upgraded today to Logos 9 and checked out the Morris Proctor Videos under the "Quick Start for Logos 9" book. Unfortunately, the videos could be heard, but not seen. All I get is a blank screen.

Does anyone else have this problem? I suspect it might have to do with something else on my system. I do know that often, videos will only work per se with software rendering but not hardware rendering.

If this is the case, is there a way to ask Logos to use software rendering?

    Hi David,

We're having a hard time tracking down what is causing this. We do have a case for this and I've added a link to this thread. If our developers need more information I'll respond again in this thread.

    Thanks,

    Philana

I just tried this, as I have the Quickstart 9, and when 9 came out I went thru all the videos. I am on Verbum/Mac.

But when I try this now, specifically the steps below, it crashes out of Verbum every time. I am on the latest berta of Verbum/Mac.

    Steps:

    1. Open Verbum - maximize it full screen

    2. Open Library by dragging it full screen

    3. Type Quickstart in the search box

    4. Click on Quickstart 9 to open it

    5. Click on any video to play - I had to click somewhere random in the timeline, as the arrow was at the end. Then press play. The video plays for about 5 seconds.

    6. Click on another video, do the same thing as #5

    7. Click the 'X' to close the Quickstart 9 window - CRASH!

    This may help?

My new laptop has 11th Gen Core i5 on Windows 11 but it initially needed Enable Hardware Acceleration = NO for certain tools, whilst FL Study Bible videos only worked with Hardware Acceleration. After I updated from the March 2021 driver to the latest graphics driver from Intel in December, then Hardware Acceleration worked for both videos and tools. And I have no problem with the MP Quick Start videos.

I am seeing this same problem on a (new) HP Spectre with windows 11, Iris Xe graphics, and an Intel Evo processor.

I updated the graphics driver from Intel and had no success.

It may not be THE solution we need to watch videos in the Logos program, but one solution is to watch the videos is to open FaithlifeTV in another window where the videos play seamlessly. From there, the possibilities are to shrink the FaithlifeTV screen while learning the features of Logos or use a second monitor for the video and keep Logos open on the other monitor.

This fixes the problem for me on Windows 11.  My question now is whether there is a reason for Enable Hardware Acceleration to be set to NO.

Apologies for being unable to replicate crash using Verbum 9.10.0.0017 on macOS Big Sur 11.6.2 (have not yet upgraded to macOS Monterey 12.1)

Apparently, notes do not work properly when Hardware Acceleration is set to enabled.  At least that was my experience tonight.  When I reset it to NO, adding a note worked fine.

Read my original post about upgrading the graphics driver.

I guess I need help to do this.  My graphics driver is from July 23, 2021 and my surface pro says it is the latest version and cannot be upgraded.  I have Intel Iris Xe Graphics card in a surface pro 8.  As far as I know, my pc is completely up to date.

PC manufacturers provide their own enhancements to the generic driver from Intel, which means getting it from their site to play safe. So whilst Intel have fixed the driver, you might have to wait a few months for Microsoft to update their version.
