Research on Servant Leadership

I am in a 1 credit hour course on leadership and it includes three assignments. For one assignment I have to do a 30 page paper on servant leadership within one NT person. What is a good person to do it on and what does logos software have on this topic? I have to use 30 sources and it cannot be on Jesus or Paul.

    My recommendation:

Laniak, Timothy S. Shepherds after My Own Heart: Pastoral Traditions and Leadership in the Bible. New Studies in Biblical Theology. England; Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press; Apollos, 2006.

I'm sure others will have suggestions too.

A Basic Search for {Headword Moses} gives me 48 sources (more than for Jesus or Paul)

You can get many more results with heading:Moses but they are not as focused.

Moses was not a NT person.

Christian, holy cow! What 1 credit hour course requires a 30 page paper? That would be even more than a typical 3 credit hour course required at my grad school. Sure maybe 30 pages in all, counting the final paper plus a couple of other short papers, but I don't think I ever had to write one paper that long except for my comprehensive paper (which was 78 pages).

And if it can't be on Jesus or Paul, there are very few other leader characters in the NT about whom there is enough biblical text to justify that long a paper and 30 sources. There is of course Peter who might be your best bet to find that much material on. Next to him I guess James or Timothy. But which ones are the best examples of servant leadership? That is the key to your assignment, and I don't think it would be fair for you to ask us to do your work for you. From all you've learned so far in the class and all your reading on servant leadership (I hope you've read Servant Leadership by Robert K. Greenleaf), and what you know of Peter, James, and Timothy (read all the NT passages that tell about them), which one do you think displayed the most qualities of servant leadership. Then go diving for resources about them.

My first reaction was close to that!

    Shepherd motif is very convincing!
