How do I stop Factbook from opening up every time I click on a word? Driving me crazy, when I highlight, click on a word and just want to see if there  are resources to go with it Factbook always opens a new window/view.

I know I have to right click in this version of Logos to get the old pop-up resource menu, but now when I hover over a highlighted text a link to Factbook pops up. I want to click, not left or right, and get the old version menu.

Can I turn the feature off and only search Factbook if I desire to. Hate the auto pop-up click feature.

Thank you for the help!

You may have noticed that many words are blue underlined which makes them a link to factbook. There's a button "Factbook Visual Filter" in your bible resource which you can instruct to not show the Factbook links:

The right-click has always brought up the Context menu (below), so I'm confused about the "old version menu" especially as clicking is usually a left click or a right click. Please explain or provide a screenshot of your "old version menu".

I suspect he means the Selection Menu which I keep forgetting about because I always turn it off.

I’ll try the shut off all resources again. I’ve been using Logos since the earliest days and never used Factbook and really don’t find its content that compelling. What is happening in this version of Logos is this, I have the Hebrew or Greek text displayed in a box below the English translation, part of the NASB version I use, and in earlier versions all I had to do was center click the mouse and it would go to the corresponding location in the original language text. Now a hover brings up a pop-up Factbook reference and a center click opens it. Drives me a bit crazy when I only want to see the original language for it.

Yes right click brings up the panel for the word, that I get and also use often.

Basically I want a way to turn off only Factbook and see zero references to it.  I’ll try the suggestion given to me above by Mick and see if this helps.

I appreciate the programmers adding features to Logos over the years, I just have my personal way of working through Logos and Factbook is not a resource I find useful.

Thank you all for the kind help.

    This worked!

    Yes!

I don't ever remember turning on the Factbook feature, but I'm glad you helped me close this.

BTW I use Logos at least 3 times a week in study and reading; yes this has been annoying me for a while.

    Blessings!

You didn't, FL turned it on for you when you upgraded to Logos 9.  They want you to know what new 'features' have been introduced so you can try them, then it's up to you to turn them off if you don't find them useful.

This is impossible. The right-click context menu has references to it.

never used Factbook and really don’t find its content that compelling.

You may have noticed that Faithlife is trying to change that -- for example, look up a Greek lemma in Factbook. They are clearly on a trajectory to make Factbook rather than a Guide the logical starting point for many tasks.

Very thankful for this thread. I had the same problem and also found the solution given above to work.

Thank you! This has been annoying me as well,  I do not use Factbook, and find many of the directions the links take me are irrelevant. For example, hovering over "temple" in NASB 1 Corinthians 3:16 - 17 brings up Factbook "Body" article. Thanks again!
