Hyperlinks in 4.0c Beta 4

I am not sure if there is a bug in the hyperlinks or if I am doing something wrong.

I create a note and give it a title (e.g. "wine")

Then I open an encyclopedia and find an article on "the vintage"

I go to the menu and select "copy URL"

Then I go back to my note and enter "the vintage"

I highlight the text I entered and then paste the URL I copied into the hyperlink box on the note file

The words highlighted change color as it were now a hyperlink

If I hover over and hold the control key the cursor changes to a hand but if I click on it the resource linked does not open. I have tried it with several different resources and it does not work.

Is this a bug? Is it a known issue? Or am I doing something wrong?

If when you place the cursor in the middle of the link does the libronixdls text show up in the hyperlink textbox? I'm guessing it does (did you select copy hyperlink as URL earlier?).

Does the hyperlink work if you were to embed it into a Word document? I would guess not and that your registry is lacking the correct key to tell the Windows shell to open Logos. Did you recently uninstall Libronix? This may have cleared the key from your registry. Check your registry for the libronixdls key per: wiki.logos.com/hyperlinks

That was it. I had uninstalled L3 because I never use it anymore. I did not realize that the hyperlinks in L4 are dependent on L3. I reinstalled it and edited the registry as described on the Wiki page. Links are working fine now.

    Thanks

Well, from L3's perspective it is the only program that is supposed to use the Libronixdls protocol so it's doing what it should do by removing the keys when it is uninstalled. Perhaps I should take copious notes on how the key is set up, uninstall Libronix and then manually create the key and then, if successful I should add it to the wiki.

Of course, the easier thing would be for Logos to automate the repair of this when an L4 installer runs [^o)]...
