Ships in antipation of the Ides of March. Can't see what the prepub savings is, if any (digital list price??).

If you're not familiar with an 'apparatus', they document non-trivial differences in the manuscripts. And since there are so many varients, they choose what to include. The one associated with Nestle (NA) typically looks at key word differences, and the more important mss's, while UBS concentrates on translational clues, and a broader grouping.

CNTTS is much more extensive ,.. which can be good, if you're interested in the more minor varients and mss's. But less good, if you're not ... the Logos display can be a challenge.

However, due to Logos' famous search capabilities, you can use it to highlight mss dating, and mss significance for easy glances.

Below, is in the new preface; note 'new coding!'. Hmmm. 'Near-term horizon' too.

"This current 2021 release is a major upgrade in that new MSS have been included, corrections have been made to numerous readings and variant divisions, and new coding has been added both to enhance the information for the user and to enable some advanced uses of the database, with some of those uses being present in the update and others on the near-term horizon for implementation."

I would SO LOVE to have this, but it's taking a nontrivial effort justifying the expense since I have the earlier one. But, wow, the allure....

Not to abuse theology, but technically, an apparatus is the path to finding the Holy Spirit's messaging .... in the face of intervening copyists with separate ideas, and poor lighting.

But more practically, I almost always have to prance over to the apparatus, when an author (2 just this week, and it's only Tuesday) offers up a "scholars got it wrong" discussion.

I just wish FL would speed up Quinta ... I buy for the apparatus.

But funding vs value is indeed a challenge.

Please stop talking! 😄 (Kidding, of course!) Although I'm not persuaded by pneumatological imperatives, I bit (chomped?) on the pre-order. Now please, no more conversation about Quinta! 😁😁

I ordered. I suspect this will be shoehorned into a Logos 10 Portfolio package or similar but life is short.[8-|]

    From the description page:

“…an advantage of this electronic format is that additions and improvements can carried out on a continual basis, with some already being planned with the inclusion of more witnesses. The result is a product that continually improves in both quality and comprehensiveness.”

Wouldn’t this mean we should only get charged for the updates and not for the entire thing all over again? After all it’s an electronic edition that will continue to improve.

I just got the 2-minute warning on shipping (early April).

But the copy you quote, comes from CNTTS. I agree, small updates would not demand another payment. But I'm hoping, Logos did some work on the CNTTS display, meriting a new file/update/$$. Hope, hope.

However, Logos isn't well-known for incremental updates. Or major updates for that matter.  They do tagging instead.

I'm comfortable with getting this one. Just yesterday, on your Acts 2:47, CNTTS easily showed the wording vs mss trend.  I have mine colorized by approx century, and reliability. And with my Accordance mss resource, perfect.

Yes, DMB, Extremely useful once you get the hang of it!  It helps teach based on the MSS evidence not based on what one wishes the text would say.

    👍😁👌

PS. What ships in April? An update to the CNTTS?

I'm a robot. I guess you were trying to be nice!  CNTTS already shipped, I checked it out, and moved on.

Then, this morning I got an email saying CNTTS was about to ship. Enter robot-me.

But going back, the email changed, as below. I wonder if the issue is Logos, or my email provider. And if Patristicum is shipping ... the new email looks

    odd.
