can some one help me find the newest and/or best? I have BDAG, but is that not only new testament?
I always use this resource for Septuagint vocabulary: Greek-English Lexicon of the Septuagint, Rev. Ed.
https://www.logos.com/product/1797/a-greek-english-lexicon-of-the-septuagint-revised-edition
BDAG isn't NT only. They also reference greek literature as well, for comparison.
With the LXX, I generally turn to Liddell & Scott, only to shift the time period back (narrow down). Moving back further Logos has an Attic lexicon, though not as in-depth.
FL's own LXX Analytical Lexicon is quite useful, since it also shows the Hebrew parallels, and quite a bit of additional info. If you have BDAG and don't have this one, it'd be next in your purchase strategy.
I might add, it depends on how you're using the LXX. Let's say you're in the greek fathers, then you might shift forward (Lampe).
But BDAG is going to do the heavy lifting for you.
I found out that I already got that one, thanks
thanks to you both
Ole, take a look at Brill's Dictionary of Ancient Greek. It is much newer and more inclusive than Liddell and Scott.
thanks steve

BDAG has a lot of LXX coverage, but it is not comprehensive.
Liddell & Scott is OK; I've also recently liked Brill's GE for non-NT Greek though I've been focusing on OT Pseudepigrapha as of late. I'd imagine its LXX coverage would be generally good.
One other option you probably already have if you have a Logos 9 package is the Lexham Research Lexicon of the Septuagint.
Lastly, Gary Chamberlain's The Greek of the Septuagint: A Supplemental Greek Lexicon is on pre-pub right now. This is styled as a supplement to BDAG focused on LXX usage. It's worth checking out; hopefully it'll get some attention and be put into production soon.
