Can I get my Personal Resources to show up in the Parallel Resource set lists for a given category or type?  If so, how do I do this?

Treat it as a purchased resource - tag it or bag it. A mytag can place it into an existing collection if the metadata is correct e.g. Type, Subject. Otherwise create an appropriate collection with other resources. Set the collection to "show in Parallel Resources" if necessary.

Remember that the PB tool allows you to create metadata like Type, Title, Author, Subject, Publisher, Publication Date, Series.

    Thank you, Dave.

This is what I thought I did.  I will go back and check the metadata.  I believe that I have the collections set up correctly and I have checked the "show in parallel resources" box.

Forgive me MJ, but what do you mean by "bump for a response 1"?

bump may refer to any of the following:

    1. With a message or forum post, bump (/bump) is the action of moving a message to the top of the list. Most message boards, forums, and similar services only display the last 10 to 30 posts made. If a forum is popular, your post may be buried and prevent most users from seeing the message. By typing something new in a message such as "bump," that message is moved back to the first page, to make sure it's seen.

To discover MJ usage within Logos one can search.

As one can see there are a plethora of 'Bumps' both human and spiritual within the Logos world.

To obtain the information that you require you would only have had to read down to definition 11 in the first dictionary listed.

On the the other hand MJ might consider using less obscure language.  ;-)

I only expanded beyond bump and a number to handle the WordSearch flood of new forum users.  I might get sassy if I have to go beyond adding the purpose of the bump.

    1. is the PB listed in the collection?
    2. does the PB have the necessary index values for a match with other resources in the collection  e.g. words for a dictionary/lexicon?

I don't mean to show how "un-smart" I am...  but where would I find information on which metadata to use when I create a PB? I mean, it appears the choices one makes, as to "Type", when setting up a PB makes a difference on how the "Guides and Searches" use it or don't use it.

For instance... when I create a PB... I can choose a type.... so far I have been "guessing" as to what type I think it should be.... and am probably wrong in my guessing.....  The choices are..."Cross Reference, Encyclopedia, Grammar, Journal, Legionary, Lexicon, Magazine, Manual, Monograph, Reading Cycle, Study Bible, Thesaurus".

So are there "Rules" or "Conditions" as to which "Type" to use and why......when creating PB appear in some/any guides?

xn = Christan man=man -- Acts 11:26 "....and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch".

Basically, the idea is that PBs are resources that work just like Logos resources built by Faithlife. So you'd probably pick the type that similar resources in your library have. BUT: the type usually goes with an index, which drives the functionality. Logos can't treat a PB bible commentary like it should unless you build bible milestones into the PB, same with calendar devotionals and DayOfYear index etc. The wiki pages give good guidance, but looking into existing PBs will probably help even more.

Yes I have the PB in the collection.

So, it is a Bible Commentary.  I have create several and one of them does show up in the parallel resource drop down, but the other Bible Commentary PBs do not.  I have all the metadata the same on both Bible Commentaries so I don't understand why one shows up but the other does not.

If that's the case, that I am missing an index, then I have no clue why one PB resource shows up but the other PB does not.  But thanks for the information.

Upload a part (e.g. several verses from Mark) of the docx file for a commentary that appears in parallel resources and upload the same part for a commentary that does not appear. A screen shot of the PB tool showing the metadata for these resources would also help.

Thank you for all your information and suggestions.  I have found the answer to my dilemma.  The answer is to include the correct index in the PBB which would match the type of parallel resource.

So, for commentaries i have entered the bible reference [[Bible:Romans 1:1-11]], etc.  and for a dictionary i have entered [[@Headword:Grace]], etc.

Now I indeed to know the correct index and syntax for a Lexicon.  Any help would be appreciated.  FYI, I am not wanted to link to Strong's numbers but rather to a Greek word.

    Thank you in advance.

Thank you very much.  I had the wrong language code for Greek.  And yes I fat-fingered the bible reference syntax.  Thank you all so much.

If you have any other indexes you all use, I would love to know them.  I did read the examples in the Logos Help.
