Pop ups

Can you stop all your advertising pop ups.

It gets quite irritating to have to keep closing a pop up when I am trying to manuuever around your website and then as soon as one is closed-another takes it place.

Don't consider how much money you are making with these popups but rather how much are you losing because people think this is tacky and desperate.

To me, it just seems low class and yes-the cutomer is always right-at least in this posting.

On your PC / Mac? Mobile device?

I am curious, because this topic keeps popping up and I don't encounter it--much--on any of my contraptions. It's true that I run popup blockers, but the only thing I currently get is a moderately inobtrusive and mildly annoying unwanted "Contact us" in the far bottom right corner. I would rather it didn't annoy me and would at least like to be able to close it.

At the end of the day, if it's some programmers "baby," it's not all that awful. I have considered that I might actually use it someday, but by then I will be so annoyed by it that I would rather miss a good buy than cave in to that popup.

Just be glad you don't remember the days of the lady with the phone in the giant popup. Or maybe you do.

I rarely see adverts, since 99% of the time, we have images turned off ... cellular and shared space with a line of tourist visitor cars down below us. But the net result (only in Logos, as usual) is big blocks of white space .... smaller iPad mini screen size. So, as the OP suggests, it shortens the visit considerably (along with the nutty filter menus).

I doubt the web/marketing folks will see this thread ... they barely see the logos.com forum (it's been rumored but not verified). My guess, not a programmer baby ... more like an ad-server business model, using in-house adverts, trying to get out-house adverts, as in the Bible Study magazine.

Yes, that was odd--typical of my natural gawky awkwardness. Sorry. My wife and I and a few friends are working on that

Annoying popups probably do matter to many either by love or by hate. My personal discovery is that a pop-up blocker is beneficial given the way things are. That is my subtle sales pitch for the benefits of using one, babies, models, and all.
