Preaching Suite

Hi,

I’ve been looking at Preaching Suite packages, and noticed that the web page says that ‘Faithlife Sermons’ is only available on subscription packages. I wonder if someone who subscribes could tell me if it is only the online storage part of Faithlife Sermons that is included or is it access to all the Faithlife Sermons resources.

Also, could anyone tell me if they find the Preaching Suite useful, and what do you find are the main benefits are of it.

Blessings

Duncan

This offer seems to be a niche marketing effort?

If you have a "higher" package you already have most of these features [except, maybe, not a few of the resources?]

I only have Verbum and Logos Bronze, which do not include the Sermon Builder. I bought Preaching Suite Essentials to get the sermon builder, instead of upgrading to Silver.

You can print sermons, but you cannot insert page breaks. I would use the sermon builder more if I could insert page breaks before printing. I am still confused what I can and cannot do for storage. I do not have a monthly subscription. I purchased the software. It appears that my sermons are saving like any other document.

The Bible Engagement Bronze package provides English Word studies and two A/G Sermon workflows.

If someone with high school/BA level training instead of MA level training wants to preach, the following three packages would provide all they needed: Verbum Fundamentals, Preaching Suite Essentials, and Bible Engagement Bronze.

Verbum Fundamentals can be purchased for $50 if you can find a coupon and it should be bought first because it does not qualify for dynamic pricing. Then dynamic pricing will kick in and lower the price of the Logos packages.

Verbum Fundamantals includes the Verbum 360 Training, but you can also see that training for free at youtube.

The Bible Engagement training is shown for free at youtube also

Both of these video series are showing Silver, but adding Preaching Suite Essentials to Verbum Fundamentals and Bible Engagement Bronze will fill in the holes almost completely without purchasing Silver.

Then Logos 5 and 6 Legacy Libraries make great cheap additions to these 3 packages, because the tagging was created before all the upper level features were developed.

If the March Madness sale lowers the price of the Britannica Great Books, then I strongly recommend this set.

The Syntopicon works great in just Verbum Fundamentals and provides more church fathers and other ancient writers not included in Verbum Fundamentals. The Syntopicon (super fancy index with articles) groups Bible scripture and the most famous books of the world under the same topic headings. For example, you can study democracy with Plato, the Constitution of the United States, and the Bible, all at the same time.

Not all Pastors need, or even want, all the "Power" of Silver and up. Preaching Suite gives pastors a foot in the door, by linking the vast Faithlife library to little more than the Sermon builder. Some people prefer to go wider instead of up.

Thanks for your help.I did wonder about whether it was necessary with higher packages.

I have Logos 9 Diamond, so already have the Sermon builder features. I also have a few legacy libraries, and resources built up over many years.

I might be better just buying a few of the resources that I don’t have, and would use, rather than going for a preaching suite plan.

    Thanks

You have all the features. It might be a good deal on a library of preaching books, though. The dynamic price must be pretty low for you.
