cant upgrade to Logos 9 from 8 complete uninstall and fresh install doesnt work either
No matter what I do reboot etc on windows 10 its stuck at version 8. support chat just said reboot but no go
I havnt used logos for a while its got 800 odd books I think its bronze when i installed it the other day on this computer it installed version 8 why I dont know. . but no dark mode so i saw 9 chatted to Logos help guy said heres the link to the free basic update but it doesnt take not matter what. anyone else had this issue?
In the about logo page it has 3 dots. One is green and says logos 8.xxx then orange dot for Logos 9 free and orange for the base package library. all my books are in 8 fine
So I completely uninstalled it even ran registers clean up reboot and download the plain Logos 9 free install not the upgrade. I opens up flashes a few times and says unable to download aa file. no mention of what file.
Tried a fresh download of the installer and same thing. spent hours rebooting etc and the logos chat help guys seem to say reboot but ive done that dozens of time
What is going on Im quite good with computers.
I tried the same thing on my Mac and worked perfect so its nothing related to my account.
cheers
any ideas
thanks

Thanks it's got no extra anti virus running.
I ran it as Administrator to install just in case.
Every program installs fine it's only since I installed logos 8 the other day it installed and ran fine so I tried to upgrade. It didn't work. So complete uninstall and now it won't install 9 from scratch it's very strange .been waiting for support to reply but it's been a day or so
While waiting for support you might see if the program installs far enough to create any logs to see if something jumps out at you. Seems like a communication issue with the data files it needs to download, but İ can't know for sure. Could be a DNS or other weird issue as well. İ had a few times where İ solved weird network communication issues with updates by using a VPN. Might be worth a try if you have one available.
Yes, but Logos may be calling something unique that the other programs you install do not. It's just a way to eliminate possibilities (however remote) that may show reveal something unexpected. It's happened to me a time or two so don't discount it. Doesn't take much effort and may bear some fruit in this quest while waiting for support.
Is it possible that your hard drive is filling up when you try to install 9? I wouldn't think it would take much more than 8, but I would check.

After all this I have a 32bit version of windows 10
They gave me a huge list of things to try but you'd think they'd ask is it a 32bit os. Funnily it's windows 10 pro 32bit bit the chip is an 64bit chip.
Ah, that'll do it!

yes it should have a proper error message.
originally 8 was installed i choose 9 to upgrade I opened logos it looked like it was updating but nothing did, even though logos obviously installed something, no message. Eventually uninstalled 8 and downloaded 9 and attempted a new install only message being this can't download a file error part way through the install so both those things should be addressed with an error message
Shane, if you are interested, Microsoft allows you to migrate to a 64bit version of Windows 10 using your existing license for free. It's a fair bit of hassle as you need to backup your existing installation, backup everything else you need to preserve, check all your hardware and software is compatible with 64bit, reinstall Windows etc, but it might be worth it if you want to run Logos 9 ( and at some-point Logos 10) See: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-to-migrate-to-windows-10-64-bit-from-32-bit/40d90c4e-8845-4bcb-bb2f-aeab312caf74
