I must apologize for some things I said in anger. I got burglarized and all my hard copies of my work and software. is there any way I can get a flash drive with WORDsearh 10 and the KJV? It's all I want. I need the multi word search engine. It is the best one I have ever found and It has me spoiled.

I have something I do that keeps me from believing all the nonsense that people preach and teach. I don't have TV or radio in my house. I don't spend much time on the internet. I have an audio Bible and play it in my house 24/7. I have been doing this for a few years now. God is always showing me new things and reminding of things I already know. I have probably heard it well over 200 times. I don't believe anything that says different than what the Bible says. I live alone so I can do it. It might help someone else but it won't sell books.

I am sorry that you are suffering the loss of your equipment and resources. Being burgled is a traumatic experience no matter what is stolen.

In another thread I pointed you to the Facebook, Wordsearch user group and they may be able to help you but I doubt it.

The good news is that all your resources in Wordsearch are available to you in Logos. If all you really want to use is the KJV then Logos will be fairly simple to use.

I guess the biggest problem is which specific version of the KJV you want.

The closest to the original (in modern-ish language) perhaps would be the 'Cambridge Paragraph' or the 'KJV with Apocrypha'.

There are just too many translations period. I have been studying the Bible most of my life, off and on. I like parallel Bibles. I have for years. There is no Bible that doesn't contain translation errors. It begins with the Greek translation. A word for word translation doesn't work because the Jews had ways that the Greeks had no way of understanding and even all the Jews didn't get right. But they all have some things in common. The main thing they all have in common is the most important thing is OBEY GOD or DIE! that's where it all begins. The flesh hates authority and nobody wants to be told what to do. In the Garden of Eden we forgot the One Command of God as soon as a distraction came along. I find that I still do. I intend to do something and invariably get distracted and do something else. I could go on but you get the point.

A free alternative to consider is Logos 9 Basic that includes 1900 edition of KJV (with Reverse Interlinear alignment of original language lemmas)

FYI: you may already have a Logos/Verbum license from Faithlife Corporation acquisition of Wordsearch.

I have read a lot of sermons from preachers long since passed on. I remember well, some of the lessons whereby the preacher preached against using the telephone. To him, and some others, the telephone was just a"work of satan" and good righteous people should not use it.  I also remember on such lesson on using computers!!!

Well seeing as we are reminiscing...

The only sermon that I heard ,before reaching the age of ten, and that stuck with me was one predicated on the idea that wearing lipstick was lying about your appearance and that all who wear it are doomed.

It made such an impression that I have never worn it since.

William, I am so sorry for your losses. I have had some recent losses, too. I am feeling some sadness, but I trust God more than ever. I was confused how to move forward without the things that I had become dependent on to live my life the way that I had been living it. I asked God to make it very clear what he wanted from me. His answer was more losses. That left me with fewer choices. God did answer my prayer for clarity. LOL.

I still have my laptop and access to my Logos account. I don't have a hardcopy Bible anymore, and won't until after I move, but I do have my ebook and audio Bibles. I am going to use what I have left, and trust that is what God wants me to use.

Logos has a few KJV bibles. Over the centuries, the KJV has been edited, and different publishers have made different edits. Unless you have already studied the publisher differences, you will be probably be happy with the free KJV Bible. That is the one that I use, even though I have others. I think the free version works in the software the best, without any bugs.

God is good even when life is not good, and maybe especially when life is not good. It is uncomfortable to start new routines and do things a new way. Sometimes God gives us a push by making it impossible to do things the way we have been doing them. At least that is what he does with me.

William, I really am sorry that it is becoming impossible to do things the way that you have been doing them. Sometimes it is more than uncomfortable. Sometimes it is painful. I've done some crying lately. I've read the psalms a bit and just bought a new Logos eBook on the psalms. God bless you William! And may you find comfort and peace.

Nevermind. I just have to get used to everything going obsolete or being bought out and trashed by the compitition. Henry Ford's better idea of planned obsolescence and Bill Clinton's Illegal hostile takeovers.

I do not get the impression that Faithlife conducted a hostile takeover so much as answered a distress call and performed salvage operations.

I don't know how to answer that exactly. It's not just Faithlife. It seems to be the way of everything in the new world order. The fuel companies, microsoft, google, android and just about every business that there is. You buy something and you can't keep it. It's just good business. You learn things and what you learn is useless when it becomes obsolete. People went to school and learned LOTUS for instance. They paid money to go to school and now there is no more LOTUS. I learned BASIC, DOS and was working on learning machine languages. I am self taught so it only cost me my time and effort. How long will it be before microsoft changes windows and LOGOS will no longer work? When I went to church as a child, women preachers were not allowed. We understood that in the Kingdom of God and the Church of God AUTHORITY is MALE. Now people have no respect for AUTHORITY and think they can TAKE authority that God does not give. I see a woman who is teaching that I must obey Mosaic law and worship on Saturday. She does NOT OUTRANK the APOSTLE Paul. What is more important, the Seventh Day Adventist denomination or the teachings of the APOSTLES of CHRIST? People don't even know what gender is any more. It's OK to hate you father but a sin to hate your mother. any time it gets to be a business the money takes over. It isn't just Faithlife, it is just the way of the world.

I play my audio Bible in my house 24/7 and have been for a few years now. I don 't have radio or TV in my house. I never know when the Holy Spirit will speak to me or reveal something. It is the only thing that keeps me alive in the liberal city of Austin Texas where Biblical church is illegal. You can't discriminate. You have to let sinners preach their sin. We all want to fight. We want to lead others to Christ. We want to share what we have with others. This is our first love and we should never lose that desire. But... If we teach we are held accountable for what we teach and the damage that it does. We are told not to be many teachers because teachers get a greater damnation. That being said, I am not trying to teach anyone. I am trying to find one likeminded person to share with and talk about the things of God. Someone to join me in prayer for strength and wisdom to defeat the sin in my own life. Maybe someone like you.

6 years ago I was going through a particularly nasty attack by the enemy. I was pouring my heart out to My King and He said to me, "You have to learn to love authority". I said "You may as well kill me now and throw me in Hell because that is impossible". Never tell My King that something is impossible. He seems to take it as a challenge. I have fallen in love with authority. Not to have authority but to be under authority. Without the authority of the Holy Ghost behind you, you will be deceived into thinking you are somebody and can do anything right. Don't wait until you are 62 years old to learn to respect authority.

I cannot find a single soul who believes in the order set up by the Apostle to the gentiles it the letters to the Corinthians. If you ar weaker than a woman you will only deceive yourself and never find the truth.

I could go on all day but I had better do something else for a while. Feel free to E-Mail me for private communication without offending everyone who reds it. If we can't agree, then at least we won't confuse others and cause them to sin.

I never have actually used that address for anything but a security backup address so I get almost no mail there. I thought it might be a way to make a few Christian friends. I am very lonely. I have never fit in this world anyway. I have been thrown out of just about every place I have ever been. I have been thrown out of jail before. I have been thrown out of the Mental hospital before. Anywhere where there are women in authority will throw me out as soon as they find out that I will not cow down to a woman. I do respect authority though. I will back down to a female police officer or the manager of my apartment but it is not the woman that I obey but the authority. Thanks, you are a pal.

    William,

It is a bad idea to put your actual e-mail address in the forum in the correct format. There are people (bots) that scour the web for e-mail addresses then spam them to death with unwanted trash.

It is better to format it something like this

The following is all one word "wrong track willy" (at) gmail (dot) com.

People who want to e-mail you will figure it out and it will help to keep you from getting your in-box filled up with trash.

    Peace Brother.

Very funny. I heard that prostitutes wore lipstick to let men know they did oral sex. That isn't my thing. I am a eunuch for Christ and am celibate. Sex isn't worth going to Hell for.

All joking aside, we all want to beat the devil and we can but the first devil you have to beat is the one in the mirror. If you can beat that one the others will flee from you.

Mine is a booger bear and I could use some help with that one.

Wordsearch 10 is unfortunately long dead, and I don’t see Wordsearch 10 coming forth in a resurrection. Wordsearch 12 was the final version produced by Lifeway, and even it is no longer supported.

The main option I recommend is downloading Logos 9 Basic or contacting Faithlife Customer Care to see what version of Logos 9 you qualify for due to owning Wordsearch 10. That should give you the KJV, any other books you owned in Wordsearch 10 (if they were registered with Lifeway’s system before the acquisition), a handful of additional free books, and the basic Bible searching you need.

Logos 9 is a little complex, so you may want to watch some of the free training videos on searching to get it down.

The other option I hate to recommend on a Logos forums site, but while you’re learning Logos 9, you could also install a backup Bible app for the KJV and basic searching. e-Sword might do what you need in its free basic version. I keep it around as a backup in case there’s a reason I need a quick Bible search and I’m having an issue with Logos. I also keep Accordance around as well. I’ve masted Bible searching in all three apps (just as I also did with Wordsearch when I had it) so if one app does happen to glitch, I can still perform basic Bible searching without skipping a beat.

When I was a kid I was told “oral sex” was “talking about sex over the phone” because people “talked” about it “orally.” It was like taking an “oral exam” the teacher asked the questions and you answered verbally as opposed to having a written exam 😂😂😂 The lies we were told to keep us from knowing too much at such a young age!  I remember during the Clinton—Monica dilemma, many parents were upset about it because they didn’t know how to explain to their kids what ”oral sex” was.  I just wanted to give them my story so they wouldn’t feel so stressed out about how to answer 😂😂😂

Anyway, why is this being discussed here? 🤔

Actually it isn't being discussed - 10 days or so the subject wisely got dropped.

Perhaps we should have a campaign to make the date of the last post in a thread more conspicuous. Sometimes we have threads revived years after the last post and treated as if the subject was relevant in the current context.

I have the setup to WS Bible 9, 10, and 11. Duo to a Logo Rep giving misinformation saying it will not work on Win 10, I threw my CD's away. NEVER trust Logo Rep's again. Not sure if that will work for you but worth a try. I LOVED my WS Bible and had it for 20 yrs.

    Nathan,

You need to understand the difference between "not supported" and "it will still work anyway" while one is LEARNING how to navigate through Logos 9. There are things Logos just cannot do that WS Bible does do. Like a simple search of a word by the Strong's Concordance number <H1961> and get all the verse associated with that number. I have not seen Logos do this yet in all their videos. That was a POWERFUL TOOL for me. PLUS IT WORKED ON MY WIN 10 OS. I have both Logos 9 and e-Sword but none of them can do this. I am not sure why they did not make Logos so it could do this simple little POWERFUL search.

Bec of the misinformation of a Logos Rep telling me it WOULD NOT WORK which was NOT correct. I threw away my WS Bible Library CD's that I safely guarded for over 20 yrs until NOW bec of a Logos Rep. The damage CANNOT be reversed, it is DONE unless by some BIG miracle someone still has the library CD's to WS Bible that I can upload into my working WS Bible 12 that has no books. I have WS Bible 9, 10, 11 and 12 on my Laptop. I can copy/paste the setup program but I have to load the books separately from the 6 CD's. All the programs work on my Laptop but I cannot transfer the Books unless there is a way to do it. I tried backing it up to transfer them but they do not transfer the whole library.

This can be done in Logos:

    • Open a Bible Search in your preferred Bible
    • Enter <H1961> as the query and press Enter
    • All the verses containing that Strong's number are shown
    • To export them to a Passage List, open the Panel Menu (click the three dots in the top right) and choose "Save as Passage List"

    Bradley,

    Thank you so much.

Just that I guarded those CD's for over 20 yrs just to loose them in one day with absolutely no recourse. I was a little rude to the two Rep's I talked to and it was not their fault. One did give me a big credit on my Logos store for books. I apologized to him in the email he sent me and gave him a great review for being so patient and understanding. Basically, for putting up with me but my loss was huge to me. If there was only a way to extract it from my Laptop and put it into my Win 10 on my desktop. That would be like winning the Lotto or if I could find someone who had the CD library of WS Bible books, also like winning the Lotto.

    Thank you,

I have 3 monitors and a Laptop so I would open WS 12 on left monitor and WS 11 on the right monitor. I would use my 48 in Samsung TV as my middle monitor to open MS Office. I see that Bradley has answered your specific question Edward.

There are folk who would love to help out with all the other things that appear to be lacking in Logos compared with Wordsearch.

Might I suggest that you tackle them by starting a new post in the 'Logos Desktop' forum, one for each issue your find. You might find it more useful to post one issue a week and give yourself time to digest all the information offered.

I'm told that there is a Facebook group that is dedicated to keeping Wordsearch running. If you might be able to source the things you need from there.

One has to decide whether to spend ones time embracing the new or hanging on to the old.

Edward, is it possible for you to CLONE your hard drive with the various WS versions and library to another hard drive or your current one? In my last couple of upgrades, laptop, wise, I had a friend who runs a computer repair/recondition shop who cloned the HD in my older laptop to the new laptop's SSD and it worked exactly the way it did on my old laptop...including WS...and even after WS ceased working on the new laptop, I reverted the Windows OS to a previous version and WS was working just like it used to. Hope this might help you!

    Bill,

TY... I have WS Bible on an old Win 7 Laptop so I cannot clone the HD to a SSD HD Win 10. What I need is to basically extract the WS 12 from my Win 7 Laptop and put it all on my Win 10. I can copy the setup program and move it over but it does not include the library books. I cannot download them nor do I have the CD's any more. It is not just copy/paste the run file but moving or extracting the library with it.

I actually have two OS running on one PC. I have Win 10 for all my study Bible Library and notes and Win 11 for search, email, Fb and anything in general. My Win 10 has Fb Messenger but NO fb. It is not signed into Google or MS in any way, shape or form. It takes only 3 minute to change from one OS to another if I need to. If I need to transfer anything I can do it through my Messenger. On my Win 11, I drop it into my Fb messenger and retrieve it from messenger in Win 10. Pretty slick way to guard your important files using one PC.

So it is not cloning so much as extracting a file.

    TY.

    Ed
