I'm not sure of the definition of type:Handbook but why are Oxford Handbooks type:Monograph?

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    Hi MJ.

I'm obviously not Kyle, but I found this in a post from Kyle back on 3/11/21 defining new resource types in Logos 9.3. It included Handbooks.

    Here is the post https://community.logos.com/forums/t/199435.aspx?PageIndex=1

    and here is the definition.

    [quote]
Handbook: A handbook is a type of reference work, or other collection of instructions, that is intended to provide ready reference. Handbooks tend to be brief and portable in their print form.

That is a good question by the way...

I have all of these. They are clearly monographs, not handy reference works. I don't know why Oxford chose the word "Handbook" in the titles.

Here's a screenshot from The Oxford Handbook of Systematic Theology showing Table of Contents and some of the text. It's basically a series of chapters by different authors.

And another one that will be dear to your heart, The Oxford Handbook of Catholic Theology:
