Allowing but not requiring a word in a Morph Query

I have a couple of questions about creating Morph Query Documents.

1. How can I set up an optional term in a Morph Query? I would want to allow but not require a certain type of word (or words) in a specific position. An example would to allow a post-positive conjunction to appear between an article and a noun, but I don't want to require it.

2. Is there a way to specify a term that could be any word of a particular part of speech (e.g. conjunctions) except for certain specific lemmas?

A Morph Search is easy:

(@D BEFORE 1 WORDS @C BEFORE 1 WORDS @N) OR (@D BEFORE 1 WORDS @N)

A Morph Query cannot represent the OR condition (only the AND)

These are good ideas for a Morph search. But the Morph search does not allow specifying agreement between search terms.

Morph Search is:

@C NOT INTERSECTS lemma:δέ, lemma:καί

How could I combine this with the first search? Let's say I want to find an article followed by a conjunction other than δέ. This does not work:

@D BEFORE 1 WORD @C NOT INTERSECTS lemma:δέ

It finds John 1:38, which has οἱ δὲ. I tried using parentheses around the NOT INTERSETECTS but it returns nothing:

@D BEFORE 1 WORD (@C NOT INTERSECTS lemma:δέ)

This does not work the way I expect either:

(@C NOT INTERSECTS lemma:δέ) AFTER 1 WORD @D

It returns lots of articles and lots of conjunctions other than δέ, but it does not require than to be adjacent as I would expect.

FYI I am doing these searches on NA28. I am initially limiting it to the Gospel of John to control the amount of data.

Thanks for your help sorting out how to use the INTERSECTS operator, which often does things that surprise me.

One strength of Morph Query is Agreement between words, but one weakness is alternative conditions for the same word. You can specify that a word (WORD 1) does not Exist, but you can't also specify that it should Exist under different conditions.

For the Conjunction query you would have to provide ALL the lemmas that should Exist with it, rather than the ones that do not.

For the other query, we would need a May or may not Exist condition for the middle word (Conjunction).

I mentioned before that INTERSECTS does not mix with (pure) proximity operators. Try

(@C NOT WITHIN 0 WORDS lemma:δέ) AFTER 1 WORD @D

EDIT: You can use NOT EQUALS, but only with the expanded form of the morphology:

(<LogosMorphGr ~ C?> NOT EQUALS <Lemma = lbs/el/δέ>) AFTER 1 WORDS <LogosMorphGr ~ D???>
