Linking resources to preferred Bible

I was reading one of my books, which discusses Scripture culture and western reading. Scattered throughout this resource are extended discussions of a number of Bible passages. For example, there's a wonderful discussion of Rev. 3:15-16. I want that discussion linked to my preferred Bible, such that whenever I'm reading my Bible in Rev. 3:15-16, I'll see that that resource has something to say about these verses.

How do I do this?

One of several ways:

mouse over the reference should show the text
clicking on the reference should open the text to that location
drag-and-drop the reference: should open the text to that location

Sorry, this isn't helpful, because I want to go the other direction: as I'm reading my Bible, I want to be alerted to the resource discussion of the verse(s) I'm reading.

Open your bible to Revelation 3:15-16
Highlight the two verses and right click to get the context menu
Make sure you have "Reference" selected and then click "Add a note"
This will open the note tool where you can copy and paste from your book directly or type in whatever other thoughts you might have.

Now, any bible you open to your passage will have a note icon you can click on and it will take you to that note. It's tied to the passage, not the specific translation.

Thank you, Morgan. We're moving in the right direction.

Other than using notes for each passage in my resource, is there a way to "index" all the Scripture references in my resource and link them to the Bible, so that I'm alerted to the resource's discussion? Otherwise,

I may just have to crawl through the entire resource, and as I read, make notes on every passage given extended treatment in that non-commentary resource. Seems laborious.

Under Tools, select the Cited by tool. Does that provide what you want?

There are two setting. "all open resources" and "all resources". You don't need the resources open. You can choose the order of your favorites resources, "all open resources" and "all resources". If you just want "all resources" at the top, drag it to the top.

OK, Try this.

Make a collection of the resources that you want to behave in this manner.

Open your bible and set a link set.

Open the passage guide and place it in the same link set.

If not already there, add the "Collections"section to the passage guide.

Set that "Collections section" to use your newly created collection containing your wanted resources.

Now whenever you change verses in your Bible, the Passage guide will sync with the Bible.

If there is a resource in your collection that has THAT verse in the resource the resource should, in theory, move to that pare of the resource.

Yes it will take a bit of work to set up your collections (I assume you will likely need more that one collection) but it will be worth it in the end.

Try this by making a collection with a single resource (The one you wanted to use), set up the passage guide to use that collection and try it out. See if it will work and go from there.
