Optimal Download Speed
My ISP is inviting me to strike a new deal with them. What are your thoughts about optimal download speed for the following pattern of Internet use? 1) daily use of Logos; 2) regular email; 3) regular TV viewing; 4) occasional streaming; e) a small amount of Microsoft Office in the Cloud. Thank you!

Logos, email, Microsoft Office require very little internet. Your decision will be based on #3 and/or #4. I am unsure what you mean by "streaming" in contrast with "tv viewing."
With streaming video, you will want good internet, preferably unmetered.
The internet I have is considered "slow," at 25 MBPS. If there were only one TV going at a time, it'd probably be fine all the time. We occasionally have three TV's going at one with occasional slow downs. Higher bandwidth would allow for fewer slow downs / freezes and/or higher resolution.

100mbps here. Ive binge streamed while downloading games and doing the internet with no problem. The things you listed were never even a blip at that speed.

I live in the city near the "silicon valley" of the Finnish capital, and the speed is 600 MB/s. Rarely hits that speed since the service providers are slower. My view is that 100 MB/s is sufficient.
In the countryside in my log cabin the speed is 3 MB/s and varies quite a lot. For the ordinary Logos use it is fine.
Gold package, and original language material and ancient text material, SIL and UBS books, discourse Hebrew OT and Greek NT. PC with Windows 11

IF you stream out content to others, remote control other computers from yours, or simply upload a ton of data all of the time then you would want a really fast upload speed.
If you are a normal user as far as uploads go and the bulk of your use is on the download side (which I think would describe 'Most users' then I would simply suggest going with the fastest speed you can get and feel comfortable paying for.
My current service is 500 Mbps (that is mega-bits per second). That works out to about 62-63 MegaBytes per second (Megabits/8=Megabytes roughly).
A speed test reports that I am getting 457Mbps down / 462 Mbps up. I am using a Fiber connection. I am usually happy with my service. I also stream to my computer and an internet ready TV at the same time with little slowdown.
Again, I would suggest going for the fastest connection you can afford. You will be glad you did.

I just checked mine clocked through an AC wifi connection and it's just under 89 mbps. It's been almost always plenty fast for Logos and other use. I think I will spring for an AX router if I get another machine that will make use of it.
