Turning off popular highlights

All of a sudden, I have Bibles and other resources opening up with popular highlights turned on. Personally, I despise "popular highlights." I have never used them. I wonder if perhaps an update turned them on.

Anyway, my question is, is there a way to turn them off in every resource at one time, or am I stuck with having to turn them off one at a time as they arise?

In the visual filter menu, examine the options from the drop down menu on the far right of the option.

I can't find something called "the visual filter menu". Where should I be looking?
