Label Tag to Reference?
Is it possible to create a label based on biblical reference as opposed to just selected text?
For example:
I want to tag Joshua 1:9 with a label called "7 Points of Valor" with Point "Courage"
I tag this in the ESV and it works based on selected text. but if I add Joshua 1:9 reference as an anchor should it not apply that label to all Bibles not just the ESV?
Am I missing something or do I literally have to go in and tag each Bible at Joshua 1:9 with that label?

Selection and reference are controlled within the entry in the note file..
Not an ideal implementation but not as bad as it could be.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

My apologies - I misread your post.

So I also played with created a label on a reference only and not a text selection. It seems that while you can anchor the label note, it has no effect as a tagged label on the reference either in the contextual menu or in searching.

Yes. You can only label selected text:
- via the Highlighting tool using a style with a label
- via the Notes tool using Add label on a Highlight or a Note
- but the label has to exist via the Highlighting tool

One workaround, but it's tedious. Keep your notes tool open and as you label text find the highlight and add a reference anchor and then delete the original anchor. This applied the label through all translations on my testing.

For example, I tagged the same label started in the ESV and then selected the same verse text in the NIV, NASB95, LEB, NKJV, and CSB. However, when searching all Bibles for the label the ESV is the only one that returned results. Is this expected behavior, or is this a bug?

I'm not quite sure what you are doing, but a label is only associated with the text and bible for which it was created. You can see the note/highlight and label in other RI's via the Corresponding VF, but Search will not list other versions..

I am trying to label verses in multiple Bible versions with the same label because it is applicable to the reference and not the text.
I would EXPECT that you could add a label to a reference, but you cannot.
So, I tried adding anchored selected text to the label (see image) and it does attach the label when you right click the text and get the context menu, however, the search, as you said, only shows the original Bible.
This creates unnecessary work in creating multiple label note entries once for each Bible.

Create a Passage List from a Label search and you can view that label result in different RI Bibles via the Passage List VF.
