Resolved: Logos keeps crashing on start up after download
I downloaded the latest version from the link given. Restarted my computer afterwards. Now whenever I try to open the logos program it crashes within 5 seconds or so. I tried to reinstall it, but it says the program is up to date.

Welcome Chris! [:)] Sorry you are having troubles [:s]
- Did you install this over a stable build? For example: Did you have Logos 9 installed and then installed the Logos 10 alpha on top of it?
- Can you post the link here? It may help me know which version you installed
- What specific platform are you on?
- We may need logs. See my signature line

Hey there, and thanks.
This is the link that I used to do the install: https://downloads.logoscdn.com/LBS10/InstallerBeta/10.0.0.0132/LogosSetup.exe
It was the one that came in the introductory group message for the beta testers.
My laptop runs on a windows 11 home system.
I had logos 9 installed and it was running well before the new install. The install would have been overtop of that.

Try this link: https://downloads.logoscdn.com/LBS10/InstallerBeta/10.0.0.0142/LogosSetup.exe
(Others should not use it as it should be out of date later today).

I do not know what the email said (I don't work for Faithlife), but installing betas (or alphas!) should be done with great caution. In this case what I mean is that alphas/betas will be glitchy and have bugs, so it is best not to overwrite a stable build... or at least not to do so if you are using a "production" machine. I hope this isn't for work or school! If so, you may find the web app acceptable as a temporary gap when issues arise.
See if the new download fixes things. If not, we can continue troubleshooting. Please provide logs (see my signature line).

When I click the new link, it comes back and tells me that logos is up to date. I went back to check the email and it does say to overwrite the logos 9 version. It is for work but I will give the web app a go. Not a problem. I logged 2 times that it crashes and sent it in to the logos support email.
Would it be worth to remove the program completely and then try the set up from scratch again?

OK. I am not a windows user and I know that the install process is different than Mac. I know that the first link you gave had the wrong version listed... but perhaps it updated to the right one somehow. Was it crashing from the get go? There should be a new version released later today (A21), so perhaps we can get you a new link to try when that happens.

Hmm. Interesting. I am not sure why they instructed you to do so (although it does make things easier, it can cause problems).

Was this something that popped up when it crashed, or was it using the instructions in my link? If this is a windows crash log, that isn't what is needed. Also, I don't know what support FL is going to give you via email. Typically they don't, but with this trial they might. I don't know. Otherwise you would need to post logs (as described in my link) in the forums to have some techies read and diagnose.
Would it be worth to remove the program completely and then try the set up from scratch again?
Maybe, but that is the nuclear option. "Remove completely" means much more than deleting the application itself.

sorry I didn't know I could attach the logs to the forum here. My bad. I will attach them to this and send it.
The logs were made following the instructions that you gave, not windows crash logs.

I'm a semi-techie. I believe that you have a corrupted .db file (LibraryIndex.db-wal). I will list the path below. Try deleting the single file and restarting Logos. If it crashes again, post the new logs created and upload them again.
C:\Users\mwolf\AppData\Local\Logos\Data\yibuwr3u.rsp\PersonalBookIndex\LibraryIndex.db-wal

I tried deleting that file and it still did the same thing afterwards. I included the new log files for the crashes after trying what you asked.

We think there may have been a problem installing the software. Try this version:
https://downloads.logoscdn.com/LBS10/InstallerLatestBuild/10.0.0.0143/LogosSetup.exe
