Just a curiosity to see what people find useful.
would love to see some screen snapshots of your toolbars and/or list of your favourite tools, functions etc.
I have four buttons:
Earlier today I did delete two buttons - one that pointed to resources used to study I and II Samuel (for a course I was taking at a local university) and one that pointed to a set of resources on prayer (the topic of my Lenten sermon series). Both the class and lent have passed - and those links were no longer needed. I still have the layouts that they linked to.

Facilitate Serendipitous Discovery
I had forgotten all about FSD!!! I love it. That has to go on my tool bar [;)]
Thesaurus (I hate when I can't think of the right word)
What's that word for a book that helps you find synonyms? I can never think of the right word.[:)]
I have a whole smattering of random, mostly unidentifiable, ones that I haven't cleaned up from testing various things:
The one I use all the time, though, is Close All. Sometimes also FSD and favorite Bible, though I'm just as likely (more, actually) to type in TNIV in the command line. I can't wait until the toolbar icons are more customizeable and can have labels with them. Hovering just doesn't cut it. Too slow to make clicking a button be a shortcut.

I'm not sure I should admit mine publicly [:$] Kevin and Aaron may beat me on aesthetics - more bookish; but I win the widest mix of images award.
Three of the above items are likely to be exchanged for products I use more as there is no particular reason to have multiple products which do the same thing. One is simply on trial until I find something better. Note none of the software I named are Logos competitors - those that are conceivably competitors I did not name.
Thesaurus
There must be a better word for one of these - but how to find it?

How do you make shortcuts to "Close All", "Facilitate Serendipitous Discovery" and "Update Now"? I can only find instructions on how to add books and layouts in the help. [^o)]

You can drag commands directly from the menus onto the toolbar. (And that includes the dropdown menu that drops down when you type a command into the command bar.)
That's cool! Thanks Rosie! [W]
"Facilitate Serendipitous Discovery"
I don't know this command. What is it? How do you access it?
You either type "Facilitate Serendipitous Discovery" or "FSD" (without the quotes) into the Command Box - it brings us a random resource. Helps you to become familiar with your library.
thanks for your responses to this post. It has been great to see what people use and how they use it. I am sure it has also been helpful for a few of us too. (I have picked up a few pointers [:D])

I was looking at the shortcuts wiki thingiee and seen the link for shortcuts others have made. This was interesting reading for a spell, what caught my eye was this:FSD.
In reading this quote for my reply, I find that FSD is just as bombastic as a cell-phone in the woods with no service and you try to keep calling someone to tell them you are lost.......
Here let me explain a little more, from the help file in L4 this is the definition:
Facilitate Serendipitous Discovery (or FSD) opens a random resource to a random location.
Now if I use this and it opens a random source to a random location – then I just gotta be bored outta ma gord. I did it a few times within a blank screen having no resources open just to see what ‘facilitates’ the discovery - - It went from Greek text’s to pictures of the Holy Land. So basically it did as directed – kinda like a Roulette wheel-----Black13. Spin it and see where it lands.
So if someone who use this command on a regular basis would care to enlighten this feeble one as to why it is a good item on the shortcut bar – I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks.
Does anyone know if there is a way to put an entire series on the toolbar instead of just an individual resource?
I would like to put one of my commentary series up on the tool bar. It would be great if I were able to put the entire series as one button instead of a button per volume.
Hi Liam, I have just put one of books of the commentary on the tool bar, and when it opens I just type in the verse I am looking for and it will come in the right book of the series.
Thanks Matthew, -yeah that's what I've been doing and it seems to work ok.
Just wondered if there was a better way.
