One-click option to send a resource to a Collection

Hello everyone!

When you buy a book, the back-cover suggest how to classify it. It was a kind of order: Classify! Yes sir! When you acquire new resources in Logos, how do you classify them? In the info panel there is a section "collections". It seems that the system automatically classifies them in some ways. How about to have a one-click button and be able to send the resource to a collection at once, without having to write a code in the tool What do you think?

I'm trying to follow along with your idea, but having a little trouble?

Are you wanting to assign resources to a collection, from the resource Info box? If so, I've always wondered why you couldn't do that. Or why there's no Collections column in the library. Or why the Collections tool can't be scrolled (unusable in smaller panels).

But not sure about your one-click button? It's true, the software automatically classifies the resources by type and subject, and adds to collections, if you have a rule.

Hi DMB. Yes, it's an option. Or from the library panel, or from the contextual menu. One click is a BIG SAVE in time in web navigation.

The system does not classify resources. You can add them to a collection using Info in Library:-

Select resources and press the Info button.
Save as a collection

The collection tool will open and you have to name the new collection. Notice that the resource titles appear in the + Plus area of the collection, and this is not a good way to go because you have to manually maintain the collection.

In the screenshot above you can:

rate the resources (giving them the same rating of 1 to 5 stars) and/or
Add a tag value to the resources. One is already tagged but you can share it or add another tag to both.

If I have a collection with the rule: mytag:FL--Connect I can get the other resource to join that collection by tagging it with the same value.

I always process a new resource by giving a star rating, and I can also use that rating in a collection rule e.g. mytag:FL--Connect myrating:>3.

This is how I track my resources, but I only tag/classify the ones of interest for my study.
