Pre-Pub vs Prepay - Becoming a Reluctant Customer

Whatever happened to 'pre-pay'? I think it was to quickly roll-out new issues, mainly.

Now, I click on Pre-Order, and up pops an invoice, complete with my credit card. No thank you.

But then if you read the fine-print, it says it won't charge you, until shipped. And its going to do something to my future pre-orders too.

OK ... whew ... but why not just 'pre-pub' me?? Like a wish list add.

Then below that is the 'Quck Buy'. I didn't want to try that one ... sounds like my CC will get hit ... quickly.

Needless to say, I finished up without doing 'something'.

The pre-pub invoice is simply so that you can review the credit card that will ultimately be charged when the item ships. The message that pops up I believe is asking if you want to use that credit card on future pre-pub orders. Quick Buy simply creates the preorder using the card on file, but it still does not charge until the item ships.

I have wondered though about some of the newer ones coming from Word Search that are already available in ebook form but being converted to Logos Research editions. I still don't think they charge if it is listed as a preorder.

I guess with so much use of my cc in Logos, it's a bit threatening. But for more intermittent customers, probably needed.
