cpu usage in Logos 9 on latest Windows 11 update

Hi, I've noticed consistently high cpu usage when I am running Logos 9 on latest Windows 11.

I have an AMD 6 core cpu and cores 2 and 4 are running and fluctuating up to the 50% mark,

Temperatures are at 70 C degrees up from 45 C.

Power consumption up to 45 W from mid twenties.

What can I do to reduce this?

But what does Task Manager show for CPU against Logos? And what are you running?

When I'm not working in Logos CPU is zero. When running a long search for God it spikes at c. 13% and quickly drops to zero.

Intel i5 6-core cpu on Windows 11.

What can I do to reduce this?

Check if Logos is also running under Background processes.

2022-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5017328) is my latest update (16 th Sept). Check online to see if your latest update has issues.

Task Manager shows 11% cpu usage when idle; 515 MB memory, Power usage: very high

I'm running Ryzen 5 5600X cpu, so no slouch.

Its not running under Background processes

Hi John, my system has the same specs you highlight but cpu usage and power are near zero with no activity in Logos and small or short spikes with Logos activity. Indexing ramps things up however only for a few minutes.

I am far from being a techy wizard, but I'm wondering if your Logos is doing something unexpected in the background. Perhaps your Logos log files might give a qualified someone an insight.

I have Windows 11, latest Logos... I'm running with 12 Gig memory and 500 Gig ssd .... and my specs run like David De Haan.

I normally have Logos 9, Excel, a C++ compiler, Word, Chrome and a couple of apps open... And when I compile a C++ program or reindex... or run some macros in Excel... I see a bit of a spike... but nothing to write home about and it only lasts for a few seconds...

But I am running latest Intel... 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz, 2803 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)

not Ryzen....

One thing.... is your disk drive close to be full? Windows likes to have extra room on the disk drive for swapping purposes...

I just upgraded to a brand new Surface Laptop Studio with Win11 and with a fresh install am getting Logos to lockup when selecting my library icon. Can't do a title search

Please create a new thread. Explain your issue clearly, provide appropriate details, including logs (see my signature line). Hopefully someone will be able to assist in a timely manner!
