BUG: Mac Version Loses the Find-Text Box

I very much doubt worth fixing, but an oddity.  Here's an illustration (latest macOS, latest Verbum):

1. I'm on Desktop 2, with Verbum open.  In a resource (here, NT Apocrypha), I do a simple text find (Cmd-F):

2. I switch over to Desktop 1 (a blue-sky background; I use for Safari, etc):

I tried various 'versions' just to see what the principle is.  Probably I'm wrong, but it appears the Find-Text box, at least on the Mac, is attached to Safari (which here, uses Desktop 1).  With the find-text box open, the desktop management keeps trying to switch Verbum (desktop 2) to desktop 1 (losing Verbum of course).

Workaround: close the find-text box after use!

I'm not in a place to replicate now (maybe later tonight), but for clarification: What computer are you on (is it an Apple Silicon machine)? What specific version of macOS are you running?

macOS is 12.5.1.  I haven't updated to Safari 16.0; waiting for a small update for bug removal.  And yes, it's an MBP with the M1 chip; firmware 7459.141.1.

To duplicate, the apps are 'specifically-attached'  to the respective desktops (as you remember, from your advice, which I appreciate): Desktop 1 (Safari), 2 (Verbum), 3 (Accordance), 4 (Kindle) ... for completeness.

I played with it some more; I doubt you can replicate it.  From what I can see, it's also related to not doing a full screen-draw (certain functions periodically don't work, unless you jiggle the panel edges a little, forcing a re-draw ... Text-Find is one of those functions).

I also lose my find box (command - f) in Logos quite frequently on my Mac. I haven't noticed any interaction with Safari (I don't use it). I suspect that it maybe is an issue related to dark-mode or extended monitors.

Sometimes the resource still jumps to and highlights the text I am looking for even though no find box appears.

I am running macOS 13.0 (in beta) along with Safari 16.1. I do understand why you think Safari might be related, but I think it is likely a bug in macOS related to desktops. I won't mess around with it at present, but after you update to macOS 13 (being released later this month, in all liklihood), let us know if you experience this again and I will try to replicate at that time.

You're probably right.  This AM, I screen-saved a Verbum, in Desktop2. Then uploaded it to Safari in Desktop1.  After that, clicking on Verbum took me to Safari on Desktop1.  And choosing Desktop2 immediately switched back to Desktop1.  Only closing Safari's tab having the upload, stopped the switching.  I'd noticed the strange switching before.
