Versions of the Same Sermon

I am a missionary.  While on furlough, I tend to preach one or two sermons at a lot of different churches.  But I like to tweak the message for each location.

Is there a way to create a slightly different version of a given sermon without having to create a whole new document?  Ideally, I would love to be able to link a slightly different version to each "occasion" of the sermon as listed in the sermon info section of the sermon builder.

I'm wondering if making a generic version of the sermon into a "template" would be a step in the right direction?  Any ideas?

Thanks!

Open your "template" or "base text" in the Docs menu, then Duplicate (right-click the sermon title to get the context menu to pop up). It will save a copy and add a number at the end. You can edit the copies as you need.

Thanks David.  That's what I'm already doing.  But when I do that, it creates an entirely new sermon document, which shows up a bunch of times in my sermon manager.  It would be helpful to have one link to a template of the sermon with the various versions of the sermon linked to that template.

Would it serve your purpose to have a "base version" and a "local version(s)"

After you deliver the local version, you can "add an occasion" of to the "base version/template" then delete the "local version"

in result you will have 1 sermon with unlimited occasions, but when you are on home assignment next time you can search on venue and recall what you preached last time you were at that congregation.

Thanks for pointing that out Dave.... I've been needing that capability!!
