Sermon Documents not importing properly
My colleague and I collaborate on weekly messages. We have a common notebook file that we share and we create a common outline to build upon for the message. The shared notebook can be imported perfectly through our "group" in Logos but our sermon documents fail to import.
We can see each other's files in "doc / groups" but when we highlight the sermon and press "add to your docs" nothing happens. When I click on "preview doc" it goes to the website but doesn't show me anything.
This used to work so something got messed up along the way. He is on Windows and I'm on Mac and we are both having this problem, so I'm thinking it is a problem in a recent Logos update. Google docs can solve this problem for us, but the Sermon manager and the writing tools in Logos are just too amazing to give up. Please fix this.

Are you and your colleague trying to share the sermon doc in a Faithlife Group of which you are both members or publicly - so visible to everyone?
It shouldn't affect functionality but if it were public someone else could try to import it and see if it works for them.
I was looking at this functionality recently and it seemed to work fine so the issue might take some tracking down.

Hi Graham,
Thanks for the quick response. Yes, we share our collaborative work in our church Faithlife group. Again our notebook this week both shared and imported properly on our respective systems but our sermon files would not. Our sermons were visible to each other in the files if our group docs but nothing happens when I try to add it to my docs. This work without any issue in the past. We stopped using this feature over the summer but restarted in Logos for our Thanksgiving weekend (we’re in Canada). While this feature has never been robust in in terms updating across the share, now it simply doesn’t work.
I can share a sermon doc publicly to test but even if that works, it doesn’t help me because I don’t want these “in-process” files to be public.
I’ll try this later today.

Totally understand that

When you have please update this thread - ideally with a link to the doc you have shared - so someone can see if they can access it.

Sorry for the delay, Sunday got away on me... as I should have predicted. Today is Thanksgiving here in Canada, so I'm getting ready for a nice dinner and sneaking in some time trying out some new Logos 10 features. I have shared my Sunday message publicly. The link is here:
I'd love to know if it can be shared that way from Logos 10. . .perhaps I should have just waited a few days to post.
With thanks,
Brent

The problem of importing shared Sermons through a Faithlife Group persists in Logos 10. The document appears in the "group" files but when I try to "add to my docs" the screen flashes as if something was happening, but alas, the document is still in the group and not in "my docs". When I click "preview doc" in the info pane, the browser opens to where the files should be, but nothing shows up. You can see on the right in the screen capture that it is shared to the group. My colleague experiences the same problem on his side with my message.
It's kind of a shame. It took me 10 years to convince him get Logos and the Sermon writing tools of Logos 9 was the tipping point. We paused sharing for the summer for vacations and now we are going back to pasting our sermons into Google docs.

I have shared my Sunday message publicly. The link is here:
I was able to download this without any problem and can view within Logos
So public sharing seems to be ok - but I appreciate this doesn't fix the group issue.
If you were willing to invite me to join your Faithlife group I could look into it further.

You are have been invited. I appreciate you helping me troubleshoot this. It may be something that needs to be addressed by Logos, but if it is just my settings somewhere, it would be great to correct that.

Yes, that's what I'm doing. When that failed, I clicked on the tool bar "add to docs" and the info pane "add to docs" and none of them move the file to my docs or allow me to open the file on my computer.

In which case please:
- close Logos
- enable diagnostic logging
- start Logos
- try to add one of the sermon docs
- close Logos
- upload the logos.log file in a reply to this thread using the paperclip icon in the forum editor
Details on logging are at https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027869132

Import sermon documents from faithlife group fails. I click on the doc icon to open a sermon, choose 'groups' look for the shared file I want to import and click on it then press right click and click on "add to your docs". Nothing happens. I click on the toolbar "add to your docs" - nothing happens. I click on the info pane "add to your docs" and nothing happens. The file is shared to the group and has been successfully imported by others. My colleague (Windows 10 / Logos 10) and myself (M1 / Logos 10) both cannot add files to our docs.
I have attached the logs.

I can't see anything in the logs that would explain this - but there may be something I've missed.
I've added a comment to your post in the L10 forum asking for someone from Faithlife to look at it.
