Simpler Search
A simpler search syntax and clearer UI makes searching quicker and more intuitive, opening up the power of Logos Search to you!
What is it?
You no longer need to remember angle brackets and curly braces, but use a simple keyword:value syntax familiar from Google and other search engines.
For example, <Person Moses> WITHIN {Speaker <Person Jesus>} becomes person:Moses IN speaker:Jesus, to find all the times Jesus talks about Moses.
An improved autocomplete will intelligently suggest terms, which means that often you don’t even need to remember the simplified syntax.
“Search All’’ results pages intelligently surface results in the most relevant datasets, without you needing to know the dataset exists, nor the special syntax that dataset requires.
If you use the older syntax, Logos will automatically convert it to the new syntax for you.
How to access it?

Open the Logos 10 Desktop app.

Click on the Search icon (the magnifying glass) in the toolbar.

Type in “person:Moses IN speaker:Jesus” and hit Enter/Return.

As a search newbie this looks fantastic and I can't wait to spend some time learning this more. Is it possible for us to turn off case sensitivity in searches? I can't think of why I personally would want to have it search exact case (though I know others may need this). At minimum I would add a brief note about case sensitivity in the initial guide for newbies like me as moses returns no hits (and gives a data type not found error) while Moses works. The suggestions in the drop-down do work regardless of case in the search box.

Hi Ali, as a 30+ year user is this old syntax conversion going to be continued forward to v11+ - us oldies are set in our ways :P LMAO

Is it possible for us to turn off case sensitivity in searches?
There is a button in the top right corner of the search panel that controls case-sensitivity (it looks like "Aa"). You will want that option ("Match case") turned off.
This won't be visible on some search kinds that don't support such as setting (like "All" search).

I haven't spent much time in the new Search but I am impressed so far. I am liking version 10 overall. Many thanks to all of the development team and anyone else that contributed. [:)]

It's nice that we can now to Bible searches by Chapter in addition to by Verse. It would be EVEN better if we could search by Pericope (pericopes sometimes cross chapters, and chapters can be rather long). Is this a possible future enhancement, to do Bible searches by Pericope?

What do you mean by "search scopes" ?? Maybe more templates?
I find the templates to be very useful and helpful.....

the scope is the unit of text the search is looking for a match in - the Feedbear suggestion thinks of clause, sentence, paragraph, pericope, article/chapter ... as probable units. The adding of chapter to the already existing verse unit for the Bible search is an element of this request.

Book is a much larger unit than chapter/verse as you imply, but Books Search uses articles as its unit (note that there is no choice like the Chapter/Verse in Bible Search). An article will vary according to the resource as it could be a chapter, a paragraph, a page, or a heading - the Indexer makes that decision. And search results are grouped according to the "article" (look at results for different bible commentaries).

An article will vary according to the resource as it could be a chapter, a paragraph, a page, or a heading - the Indexer makes that decision. And search results are grouped according to the "article" (look at results for different bible commentaries).
Thanks for the clarification! And as usual, you are right. I have a PB for each book in the Bible... and I add to those such as I find associated with each of them... and when I search "Books" they show up.
