BUGS/ENHANCEMENTS to Factbook tagging for Pseudepigrapha, apocrypha etc.
The tagging of pseudepigrapha etc. is a natural response to the new resources making the literature more accessible. However, there are some flaws in the current implementation:
- When finding the correct Factbook tag, the type on these writings is often topic. When the same name applies to multiple things e.g. the name of the text is the same as the author, it is important that all writings are tagged as writings, show the writing icon, display that icon in both Factbook and the picklist.
- Because of the confusion caused by the erroneous types, there needs to be an edit that rejects a Factbook tag that duplicates FL supplied tagging. Remember that this tagging appears in the Context which needs to be kept as clean as possible.
- In order for the Factbook tag pick list to identify the correct record, alternative names must be added to the records in Factbook quickly at least for the works in Rick Brannan's Guide and the NASSCAL Handbook.
- It is important that data problems be reported and resolved on a timely basis e,g, Act of Peter appears to be only Coptic Act of Peter assuming that Acts rather than Act is a typo for the Old Slavonic Act of Peter. It is disruptive to the workflow to report the errors in a single forum thread. The ability to report errors through the Factbook entry itself MUST be reinstated as was promised when L9 was released.
- Some mechanism is needed to report missing tags or groups of tags that need to be added to Factbook tags. This need was recognized in the initial implementation (under the community tags name) but was not replaced when Google dropped the Freebase? feature.

Thanks for the feedback, MJ. I believe there are presently some issues with the lookup that when resolved will address most of what you're reporting here.
If you are keeping track of alternate names, feel free to aggregate them for a bit and then send them to me. my first name at faithlife dot com.

I'm working through new resources slowly but will send you a group eventually. Thanks for the offer.
