I've tried L10 for a day now....trying different things and such...

    1. I like that it is faster. L9 seemed slow to me.

    2. I like how the timeline has been simplified.

    3. I like the "quotes" in Sermon Builder.

    4. I love the new simplified Search!

    5. I think I will like the new sidebar menu - once I get used to it.

    6. I like the "import old sermons" big time!

L10 is in my books a better package for helping to study God's Word!

    Kudos all around!

Thanks, Faithlife! A fair number of feature improvements I will actually use!

Yes I've been with Logos since Logos 6 and this is the best release I can remember.

I think Logos has done a very 'apple' upgrade, and I mean that as a big compliment. Like the apple computer company, Logos has thought about what changes will actually make a meaningful difference to users. I have felt in previous releases that the goal was a high number of new features, which increased complexity and many of them were quickly forgotten by little old me.

But this release hits some very simple areas of every day use.

    • Speed! on my M1 I can tell the difference!
    • new UI is great, a lot cleaner and makes more sense on wide screen displays to have the toolbar on the side! clever!
    • Multiple link sets in iOS apps and a 'follow only' option are both AMAZING. Game changer. And when I scroll to another book of the Bible, it automatically changes the volume of my commentary to the corresponding volume in the same series. THANK YOU. This is a big, big, big simple change that will help me most days.
    • Search - obviously useful!
    • Print Library looks very cool

I commend the team on their focus. Keep this strategy - improve daily use rather than increase number of features. Love it! This feels like a release where Faithlife really listened to users.

It is indeed a very nice upgrade!  Congratulations on this anniversary release!  For my first impressions, I give version 10 the maximum five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    MY TOP THREE FAVOURITE FEATURES:

    • Speed, speed, speed... Very noticeable performance improvement on Apple Silicon.  Things scroll more smoothly and better than before.  Panes snap open and close. For those of us who love the programme to get out of the way by operating quickly, this is HUGE!
    • UI refinements. I love, love, love what has been done with the UI in multiple ways. Very clever to put the toolbar on the side and many other tweaks as well make it a visual delight, making the speed seem even that much more delightful.
    • Simple Search - Search is fundamental to a Bible Program. I am thrilled to see this continue to grow.  Did I say speed also makes this a delight!?! [:)]

These three alone make this upgrade so very much worth it.

THE JURY FOR ME IS STILL OUT ON:

    • Advanced Timeline - need to play with this more to see if its redesign really clicks with my head, particularly with the speed. Oops, did I say speed again? 😜
    • FactBook tagging - I need to do some heavy lifting to see what gold comes up. I am sure this is going to be good because Factbook has really started to come into its own in v. 9.
    • Datasets - I am sure they will be good and so I need time to mine them for gold as well.

NOT AS GOOD FOR MY USE CASE:

    • Importing sermon documents
    • Translation
    • Print library catalogue. (I abandoned print books for the most part over a decade ago)

I can see how these will be invaluable for many.  So congrats to Logos and to those that needed these capabilities.

    WISHLIST for LOGOS 11:

    • An Atlas as Powerful as Factbook - So powerful, that it has its icon right alongside Factbook. Going back to Logos Series X, some of us have been asking for Logos to bring its 'A' game that it has brought to data to interactive and powerful, user-manipulated maps with configurable layers (then and now), more interactives to photos from that part of the map, archaeology and timeline integration. The Maps could be a powerful visual gateway to the centrality of the text and many resources.  Imagery can be so important to creating the context for scripture for visual learners.
    • The Library Manager - Also, with our massive libraries, I would love to see the library window reimagined. In fact, with all the other refinements, when you click the library icon it seems a bit of date.  I would love to see more AI built into this feature to help us remember gold in our libraries. Perhaps 'see also' or 'related'.  Maybe bring in elements of Lexham Bible Guide Data?  It is great to drill at a data level, but sometimes particularly in wanting to take a more holistic tour of books, it is useful to see what else in the library should go on your reading list?  Prioritisation and virtual bookshelves might be worth exploring too.

All in all, this version exceeds my expectations.  I am going to guess as I use this new version that I will modify my views, but these are my first impressions.

Well done team. A great way to celebrate 30 years!

Add me to this list of those giving "THANKS" and "GREAT JOB" all the way around.  I have been a near-daily user since Logos 3 days.  Even though I have always upgraded to stay current (and never regretted it) I can say that it appears Logos 10 may be the BEST and BIGGEST improvement in quite some time.  Having spent several hours using Logos 10 this morning and toying with a handful of the new features, I keep returning to my favorite Greek word...WOW!!!

Thank you all! I'll pass this along to all that worked so hard on Logos 10. Your kind words mean so much to us!

Thanks for everything and all the hard work; so far I especially appreciate the abundance of improved bible quoting style options (finally can get rid of the verse numbers and put the bible reference at the end ...) and I'm looking forward to using the translation feature! Greek translation "would be nice" (for Migne/P.G. in particular) but I assume that would be much more complex and of less interest to your primary user base. Factbook improvements are very welcome.

A helpful library would be quite interesting, as opposed to one that is merely responsive. The AI feature is intriguing, although I''m pretty sure I don't want my Library threatening to burn me at the stake if I don't comply with its preferences. Suggestions would be useful, and one way this might kick in is based on citations and citation chains.

NOT AS GOOD FOR MY USE CASE:

    • Importing sermon documents
    • Translation
    • Print library catalogue.

The latter two need a Full Feature Set. Silver Feature Set includes the Sermon import and doesn't miss out on anything important as I have Logos 9 Full. You might want some of the missing Interlinears, though!

Not having a licence for a feature may have no impact on the software e.g. it is already included. But it may save some file space.

Thank you very much Faithlife for finally making searching something a simple person like me can do more easily [;)] without diminishing the power it had previously.

You can say what you like... but as for me... the biggest thing for me is the work done to make Search more useable. I gave L9 bad marks just because of the search.. it was clunky at best and I don't know how much time I spent trying to learn how to use it.

I know I don't know all the ins and outs of L10 Search... but I've found that I do know enough to use it to help me find things... and hopefully will learn the rest... I gave up on L9.

If nothing else..... Search was worth the upgrade for me!

Thanks Faithlife for listening to all who gave suggestions to Search!

I had already stated it in the Search topic, but I agree. Just the search was worth the upgrade for me. But that aside this is overall my favorite version since my original purchase of version 3.

My primary use of Logos in on an iPad and these changes are incredibly useful. Wordsearch had the follow only option and that was one thing I missed. Also, I can now do some very useful searches without copying someone else’s formulas.  On an M2 macbook air Logo native is almost twice as fast L9[:D]. Thank you Faithlife for an incredible upgrade.

Well I will jump on the bandwagon of thanks. I’m just a lay person but have loved Logos since v4. There have been times in the past I felt a cost was too much but I’m good this time. Overall I do not regret the 4,500 I have spent since v4 over the years. Having the best software to learn and study with is a priority for me. So thanks Faithlife.
