Feature: Factbook Tags
Factbook Tags
Millions of tags in the books you already own.
What is it?
A visual filter (on by default) will add millions of tags forGreek and Hebrew lemmas, people, and theological terms, similar to Kindle’s X-Ray feature. You can hover over the tags to get a brief definition or click to find more details. Perfect for those who can’t remember who Hannah More was or what Priscillianism is.
How to access it?
-
Open the Logos 10 Desktop app.
-
Open any book in your Library.
-
Click on the arrow next to the Factbook icon (square with a check mark) in the menu at the top of the resource panel to turn on the Factbook Tags visual filter.
-
You will notice that the Factbook Tags are underlined in blue in your book.
Note
-
This is an online-only feature.
-
Starter includes People tags.
-
Bronze adds theological terms and Greek words.
-
Silver adds Hebrew and Aramaic words.
-
Take a look at our pricing page for the full list.

Love the additional information this brings. This feature would be even better if it didn't interfere with the normal double click option to do a quick word original language look-up. I would like to have the popup never cover over the word I am hovering over and then if I want to open factbook I should be able to move my mouse to the popup and click it to bring up factbook. This would preserve the double-click word look-up and yet still easily allow me to open the factbook entry for any marked text.

I have tried this on three or four books and the only world that gets tagged in any of them is "Jesus"? I followed the steps to turn it on and when I turn it off "Jesus" is not longer tagged. What am I missing?

Maybe a white underline would work better?
Or even a blue underline that is the same blue as the links?

Me too, similarly I've opened a number of common, high profile resources and nothing is highlighted.

While Faithlife use AI to load some unambiguous tags, the power of this tool is in the tags entered by other users. Open Factbook to Adam (First Man), go down to the Factbook tags section so see examples of tagging.

Will this feature make it to the mobile app at any point? It's being marketed as like Amazon's X-ray and that made me think it would be great to have this while reading away from my desktop.

I totally agree!

FL??? PLEASE GIVE THE OPTION TO HAVE HIGHLIGHTED WORDS IN VARIOUS COLOURS. NOT PINKISH. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN I SINGLE LEFT-CLICK ON A WORD, ALL WORDS IN THAT RESOURCE ARE HIGHLIGHTED IN A PINK HUE. I CAN HARDLY SEE THEM.
I'VE ASKED FOR THIS ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND STILL NOTHING.
EVEN THE FACTBOOK UNDERLINING IS QUITE DIFFICULT TO SEE. CAN YOU MAKE THE UNDERLINING FOR FACTBOOKS A DIFFERENT COLOUR AND MAKE THE LINES LARGER? AND I DON'T HAVE BAD EYESIGHT.
HONEST QUESTION: IS IT VERY DIFFICULT TO DO THIS?
THIS IS WHAT I'M SEEING: THE WORD 'THE' IS HIGHLIGHTED. CAN YOU SEE THEM? THIS IS WHEN I LEFT-CLICK ON THE WORD 'THE.'
YOU HAVE AN AMAZING TEAM OF TECHIES. I'm SURE THEY COULD DO THIS IN A HEARTBEAT
On a MacBook Pro, in night mode, the blue line is virtually impossible to see. Maybe a white underline would work better?

I am so confused on how this works, been away from logos for a whole year and coming back today, is there any official training on this, like maybe MP Seminars?

What specifically are you confused about?
Does the article / video at https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/8942695497229-Factbook-Tags help?
