Logos 10 Memory Hungry
Hey all,
I am running Logos 10, V. 10.0.0.0.0215 on a:
15" 2018 MacBook Pro
macOS Monterey V.12.6
2.2 GHZ 6-Core Intel Core i7
16 GB 2400 MHz DDR4
Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB
When running the Logos 10 my fan never shuts off and the laptop is hot to the touch constantly above the Touch Bar and screen. Running Logos 9 for years I never noticed it hogging memory like this version. Is anyone having this issue- not sure if there is a fix or something I can do to cool it down a bit?
Thanks in advance!

Mine was running hot; MBP-M1/Monterey. But it cooled down after I fixed my visual filters searches. I doubt that's your issue, and your on the Intel.

Interesting, what do you mean by "adjusted visual filters"? Thanks for the reply.

Do you use visual filters, especially ones which use grammatical syntax? Are they complex? If you don't use visual filters (other than regular highlights and notes), then it probablyl isn't your issue. If you do use them, then we should hunt down some of the threads where users are discussing it.

JT, Other than highlights and notes I do not use any of those other features yet.

I find the same situation on Windows 10 when I have the same layout open on both Logos 9.17 and Verbum 10.0.0.0215 on the same computer. According to Task Manager, version 10 uses 2 to 3 times as much memory.

Harry- yes, for me, on average Logos 10 is hogging 1.38 GBs of my memory when in use. When it is in background it idles around 1 GB. If Logos 10 is what "fries" my BigMac I'm gonna go to another restaurant!

Would old collections cause the same problem? In creating a new collection today I noticed that the syntax is not the same as the new L10 search syntax.

I noticed that the syntax is not the same as the new L10 search syntax.
The Collections "search/selection" has never matched the search panel, it matches the selection criteria syntax of the library panel.
