The CBL is on sale for those interested in it: https://www.logos.com/complete-biblical-library
I really hope it gets included in a base package in L10, as the quality has been surpassed by newer scholarship. IMHO $299 would’ve been a better price.

I don’t think any body should spend $400 on this resource! Too old and Logos already offers better features that surpass it. The dictionary is the only thing I’m interested in at this point (but too expensive also); and that’s because I own the other dictionaries and lexicons that link to it. I own my CBL in Accordance and the study Bible/“commentary” is too basic. It would be better to just include it in a bronze package or even a starter package to help new converts. I advertised it because many were wanting to buy it at a cheaper price than the regular price. The current sale beats the $700 prepub price. Good resource, but honestly way overpriced at the regular price. WORDsearch used to sell the entire set for $299.
Thank you, DAL this confirms my impression.
I’m not pentecostal, but I had a dream that the CBL will be included in the Pentecostal/Charismatic Base Package — Silver and above. Wouldn’t that be great! It will definitely boost the sales on those base packages! I hope my dream comes true 😁 For what it offers, there’s no point in selling it so expensive and not selling as many copies.

I agree! For those of us with large libraries $99 would be the right price 👍😁👌

Agreed!
Well, with a late present I‘ll be receiving, I virtually got the collection for half the sale price! I don’t feel so bad anymore since $199 is better than $399!
Last I checked, the CBL is still on sale as of 6/25/2022 — 4:25pm EST — so if anyone still wants to go for it and give it a test drive, you still have time!

DAL, can you tell us more about this "late present," and if there is any chance any of the rest of us might be able to receive it as well?

Unfortunately, the present was from my step-daughter, so no chance the rest of you might be able to receive it 😂 I must say, having CBL‘s interlinear fully functional with the CBL OL dictionaries is awesome! This was a turn off using CBL in Accordance because all the lexicons linked to CBL are in my Logos library not Accordance. Now problem has been solved and I’m really liking them 👍😁👌

I must say, having CBL‘s interlinear fully functional with the CBL OL dictionaries is awesome! Would you be willing to post a short video of this feature in action; preferably with the Greek?
Sorry for the delay! Thread got buried with other threads. I’ll see what I can do. Trying to migrate to a new machine so my Camtasia doesn’t freeze things up. It’ll be a while, but I’m not making any promises 👌

Sorry Beloved Amodeo,
The CBL demo video will not happen. Long story short, I ended up returning the CBL as it did not add what I thought it would to my Logos Bible Software. Here are a few reasons why I returned it. Hopefully, Faithlife will take notes.
1. The Hebrew and Greek English Dictionaries have links to other lexicons, but there are several instances where you click on those lexicon links to get more information and the lexicons don't always open to the right entry.
2. The Greek English Dictionary link to BDAG is not to the BDAG version Logos sells, but to the OLD version Logos no longer sells. I don't understand why Faithlife doesn't link to BDAG like Accordance did. Hey, Accordance even added an extra link to NIDNTTE by Silva. So apparently is easy, but Faithlife doesn't want to bother with it; hence, making the resource worthless by linking it to a resource we don't have access to.
3. Both the Hebrew and Greek English Dictionaries have a "different grammatical forms" section where it tells you how a word appears in the text. Not only that, but after that, it gives you a "Concordance" with all the verses where the various "grammatical forms" appear. It's nice, but the problem with that is that if you're dealing with a word that has 38 grammatical forms and they appear in 150 different verses, you have to scroll down the dictionary until you're done looking at all the verses where the word appears. That's a lot of scrolling.
4. It's only after you scroll down through all the verses in the concordance that you actually get to see how words are used in Classical Greek, the Septuagint, etc.
5. The various versions module is fine, but I like the way Accordance did it (which I think Wordsearch had it like that also). They actually included the various versions within the commentary right before the exposition of each verse or verses, which saves space by not having an extra panel opened.
So, Faithlife did a great job bringing CBL to Logos, but they have crippled a fine resource by making it way to expensive and by not properly updating links to the recent lexicons AND by tagging it wrong in one too many places.
I did like how the CBL Hebrew and Greek Interlinears had number links to open the Hebrew and Greek English Dictionaries. Those always opened to the right place, but other than that, the rest of the tagging needs to be redone in my opinion.
For now, if I want to look at the Hebrew and Greek English Dictionary definitions, I'll just have to see my copy in Accordance. These dictionaries and the interlinear linked to them is what really makes the CBL stand out.
Maybe FL can update and improve CBL and include it in a base package or really LOWER the price to $199
Anyway, that's all -- so much for keeping it short [:D]
Good to know DAL. It is a shame that is the case.
Thanks for saving me a few bucks

It’s a shame, indeed 😕 I was really disappointed with the “final” product. Hopefully, FL will listen and updates the links to point to BDAG and updates the others so they can point to the right entries. Also get rid of the extra various versions module and include them in the commentary as it won’t really clutter the commentary. Also reduce the price as it’s way too expensive for what it offers. Is not like CBL is a separate program or has a chance of ever competing against Logos 😂🤪

Well, I finally got CBL for $100 and change! Hopefully they’ll update the links and all to make it work like it should 👍😁👌

Old and New Testament, 39 vols. (The Complete Biblical Library | CBL) is included in five Logos 10 Base Packages: Logos 10 Kerusso , Logos 10 이중언어 포트폴리오 (Korean Bilingual Portfolio) , Logos 10 Portfolio , Logos 10 Collector’s Edition , Logos 10 Ultimate
Keep Smiling [:)]
I can get the CBL collection in Standard Portfolio for $108.60, but I don't know anything about this set. If I already own most commentary sets, grammars, lexicons, dictionaries, etc..., then what would I get out of this? Is it still a must have?
It’s like an NIV 1984 a good classic you just want to have; except this is still available.
It also looks like 36 of the 39 volumes of the CBL are included in Logos 10 Baptist Gold.
Good catch! I actually saved a few dollars by getting Baptist Gold and then Standard Portfolio.
Or you can complete the interlinears by buying Kerusso Base Package and it’ll be way cheaper 👍😁👌Kerusso: https://www.logos.com/product/228471/logos-10-kerusso

Purchasing Baptist Gold and then purchasing Standard Portfolio was actually cheaper for me than just buying Kerusso. Standard Portfolio was also about $25 cheaper on its own compared to Kerusso.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Apologies the issues you've experienced with this title, we are looking into this.
Have a great Friday!
