Help with Labels

I come across something in my reading that is helpful for preaching on or understanding John 3:16, but it does not mention John 3:16 anywhere in the relevant section and would not come up in a regular search of bible:"John 3:16".

Is there a way to label the text so that a search of bible:"John 3:16" would pull the labeled text without having to search label.reference:passage:bible:"John 3:16" ? This current label search is based off of a label I created for testing purposes.

There may be shortened versions in that the new search syntax allows some elements to be assumed rather than stated, but I would have to set up a test case and play with it to give you an answer. Dave H. may be able to provide an answer, but I would suggest that you try the search (c) leaving out the "bible:" to see if it can be assumed,(b) I would try leaving bible in but omitting "passage:" to see if it can assumed (c) if both can be assumed individually, I would try leaving them both out i.e. label.reference:"John 3:16". I doubt that it will work in that compact form but can see why it might.

After testing the shortest I can get it to is label:passage:"John 3:16"

I can get rid of the attribute name and bible. However the original search takes 1.75 seconds while this new shortened search takes over 17 seconds, and that's searching for only one tag in one resource.

I was under the impression from old forum posts and the Logos help on labels that our labels can populate guides and the Factbook. Is this still possible? I have yet to get it to work.

To the best of my knowledge, Sermon labels are the only user labels picked up by the Guides.

I've followed one of your old threads but can't get the sermon guide to populate with my labels.Does it still work on your end?

I would understand that the label is called Reference and the attribute is Passage.

The best meaningful expression is the original: label.reference:passage:bible:"John 3:16"

This may work just as well: label.reference:passage:"John 3:16"

The slowest was always going to be: label:passage:"John 3:16" because it will search all labels looking for that attribute.
