Layout on 2 monitor system
I have 2 monitors... which I set up a couple of layouts to use the 2 monitors... but each time I open one of those 2 layouts... the main Logos screen comes up fine... but the other screen where I have 3 resources each open in "Floating page layout" has to be "reset" to fit the screen.
Shouldn't "Layout -> update active" save the layouts as I organized them the first time and not have to be re-sized each time?
Is there some other way to have multiple resources (books) open on 2 monitors? Maybe I'm not understanding how to??
I tried to open a resource in "new tab" but then on the 2nd monitor I can only view one resource at a time because of it being "tabbed". I normally run (with multiple screen layouts) with about 3 books open in floating page and then resize them to fin the 2nd monitor.
I'm a thinking .... maybe it would be great to be able to run 2 instances of Logos (one on each monitor)???? That way we'd have full functionality on both screens.

If you have the horsepower run Verbum and Logos on separate monitors, that's what I do- I have Verbum loaded on a 4t hard drive as "E" drive works fine.
I have also found it better to split the layout on a - main layout - PG, Bible, dict, lex etc then on the other (Verbum) commentaries, and other resources.

Don't have Verbum.

Don't have Verbum.
But perhaps you should have. It is the easiest ways to run two instances of the program on the same machine.

I'll check into it....
but I'm a thinking maybe Logos only running on one monitor is a weakness of Logos. Especially when I can create "floating resources" and move them to the other monitor. The problem is that "Layout - update active" doesn't update layouts stretched across 2 monitors.
Surely, I'm not the only one that runs with more than one monitor.

I don't understand what you mean. I have four monitors, and I can open floating windows, move them to a monitor, maximize them, and add whatever resources to that windows as I want, and when I save the layout, they come right back up full size. I am on Windows. Are you on Mac?
Here is an example:

My dad has been running into a similar problem, the extra window opening on the main display instead of the second monitor. Is this your problem?
I wasn't able to solve it for him but we were pretty wel convinced that it was something to do with the monitors themselves. Something about the order in which they power up. Might be something to look into.

Well, I cannot get my image to show up.

Welll... I am confused.... but I re-oriented my layout on the monitors... I switched them abasically. And that seems to work.
I guess Logos can't be on monitor #1 for some reason. But now it works for me!
Thanks
Edit: I do plan on adding 2 more monitor soon but now I have to pay for Logos 10! lol ... [8-|]
Edit #2: I do think FaithLife needs to work on Logos to be able to work better on multiple monitors. I.E. be able to format other monitors etc.

We've been running well on multiple monitors for years. An occasional need to drag a floating window onto the second monitor isn't a big deal to me.

I don't know what you are seeing that makes you say this. I consistently run with the primary window on monitor 1 and the floating windows on the other monitors.

I can confirm that on the Mac having the main panel on monitor one and floating panels on monitor two, my standard set-up works fine.
I can also confirm that layouts remember where the floating panels are supposed to be and only have to be sought out if I try to open them when monitor 2 is occupied with an app in full screen.
BTW Logos tends to run full screen in one of my workspaces on the main monitor continuously between (rare) restarts.

Thanks everyone.
I don't mind opening a resource to full screen and dragging it... I just didn't understand why it didn't stay that way.. but from what everyone is saying... it must be something on my end.... so I'll start fiddling with it to find out what it is....
Thanks again!

Do you save the layout after modifying it?

Yes... many times.... then close Logos... re-open choose that layout... and now for the most part it works. I still have to adjust one of the resource on monitor 2. But that is minor.
