PBB Issues with Logos 10 (Mac)

PBB does not open to saved reference spot.  It is a devotional with OT books with chapter bookmarks.  My current Jeremiah bookmark opens at Proverbs 30 when restarting Logos, not the last opened bookmark in Jeremiah.  Also the old issue of the indexing not releasing the PBB has resurfaced so I have to close the PBB tab, close Logos, then reopen in order to rebuild the book each time I add to it.

I'm not sure I fully understand to what you are referring.

I opened two PBs in my L10, then read a few paragraphs and scrolled through them a bit, then closed the PB book.   Closed Logos, and a little later opened Logos again, opened the first PB and it opened at the place where I had closed it. Opened the 2nd PB and it too opened immediately to the place where I had closed that book. Thus the PBs opened to the saved reference/place at which I had closed them.

What do you mean with "issue of the indexing not releasing the PBB"? Is this the old bug that the PB sometimes won't build and closing Logos and restart fixes it?  I wonder why that matter - which is not about further development of the PBB tool, but just a bug fix - still has not been addressed even with several major releases having hit the market over recent years ...

Yes, for Logos 10 Mac version it always opens to the same (wrong) bookmark instead of where I left off.  If i simply close Logos and reopen, it eventually loads (much slower than version 9) and is at the point i left off.  If I rebuilt the book, when I restart it goes back to Proverbs 30 instead of the current place I left off.  Does not keep the state properly.

For the indexing issue, yes, it was fixed for a while, but now again I have to close that book tab and restart Logos before I can rebuild the PBB.  It is an issue for me as I update on an ongoing basis for my devotional commentary.  This is one reason why my primary bible software is OliveTree, not Logos.

I am using L10 on Win10 ... my experience mentioned therefore was about L10 Win version.

About that "long standing bug", after I have made changes to the docx file of the book and then opened the PBB tool, instead of just click on"build book" I have deleted the file from the "add files" and then added the changed file anew ... this seems to have helped avoiding the bug error with the  need for a restart of Logos for longer time (perhaps only a subjective impression?)

Wolfgang, thanks for that info.  I find it quicker to close and reopen than delete the source file, re-add, and rebuild... <sigh> I have yet to try this in Windows to compare, as my Mac is the primary system I work on.

Well in Windows 11 with L10 it still has the indexing issue.  Seems to have found the last read bookmark so far.  I am not changing to Windows L10 to keep up my Devotional Commentary, so I will just deprecate L10 PBB creation to once a week or so to keep from wasting too  much time on this until/unless the bug is fixed.  I will shift more to my ongoing PDF version and many add an eBook one and forget the L10 indexing and cross reference searching I thought L10 would be good for.
