Bug: Significant oversight in Popular Quotes

Here is the quote as I've dragged it into Sermon Builder:

Neither the sermon text has only the author's name, which is not sufficient attribution. The source should also be cited, and there should be a link to the source material.

Worse, the slide produced doesn't even contain the author's name. The slide template doesn't even provide a field for the author or source material.

As much as I enjoy quoting other people, proper attribution is necessary for the sake of integrity and good practice.

I hope Logos addresses this sooner rather than later.

What's even worse is that the above quote from Osborne is really Osborne quoting Moises Silva, something which Popular Quotes completely ignores. In all honesty, pastors can usually get away with not citing sources (although they should always cite them), but anyone relying on this feature for academic purposes must be very diligent to ensure that they properly cite the source.

Agreed. Or at least a link back from the sermon to the source...

When used in All Search > Popular Quotations it appears as:

“a determinative function to context; that is, the context does not merely help us understand meaning; it virtually makes meaning”

(I had to figure that the query to use for the All Search is Context)!

This is an area we are aware of and want to improve the user experience on in the future.  Currently, depending on what slide background type you use, the author name may or may not appear.  For example, see the screenshot below and the two orange arrows.  Those backgrounds will correctly show the author names but the others likely will not.

We want to build in a better filtering option going forward so that users have an easier time using the appropriate slide backgrounds or have more options to easily add the information they desire.

In the meantime, I do appreciate the feedback.
