What is included in the new 1.2.2 version? I haven't noticed anything yet.
No new features, fixes for Snow Leopard.
Actually, this isn't quite true - there was a bug in Bible Speed Search that is fixed in 1.2.2 so I'd recommend it even for Leopard users.
I tried doing a topic search on 1.2.2 and it crashed. Oh well.
Michael,
To take care of the crashing problem, close Libronix and open a Finder window and select Home (which is also your user name on your computer) underneath "Places" (or click on "Go" and then choose Home). In the Home directory, go to Library > Caches and move the Libronix DLS folder to the Trash Can. Once that folder is deleted, check to see if you can run a Topic Study. If you cannot however, we will need to get Log Files from your computer to see if we can determine what is causing the crash. To do this, follow the steps below:
1. Quit Libronix DLS.
2. Open a Finder window and navigate to Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Libronix DLS/Scripts on the startup volume.
3. Double-click EnableLogging. Watch the Dock for the Logging icon to appear. When it goes away, restart Libronix DLS. Leave the Finder window open to the Scripts folder.
4. Perform the actions that cause the error or behavior to occur. Afterward, quit Libronix (unless the error caused Libronix to crash and it's already closed).
5. In the Scripts folder, double-click DisableLogging. Close that window.
6. Send an email to macsupport@logos.com with the attached LibronixDLS.log file. The log is found in your user or home directory under /Library/Logs.

Gracias LOGOS son los #1
Yes, those font problems were getting quite frustrating... nice to see them fixed! [:D]

However, the font problem does not seem to be fixed in Leopard [:(]. Snow Leopard breaks too many other applications. The vendor for one vital application had indicated that they will not fix the crash unless we spend $2500 + to upgrade. Thus, I would like to see Logos fix the font problems with 10.5.8

Thanks for the help, Deborah. I logged the crash and emailed it to Mac support.
things are getting better! Thanks!
Crazy font issue is fixed even in the pop ups. Thanks. [Y]
Thanks, Logos, for all of your work. A great product getting better all the time. Colin

Was this revision supposed to fix the transliteration in the Exegetical Guide for Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard)? I want Hebrew not an English equivalent.
I have been a Gold member for the past 6 years but on PC, I have now seen the light and a MAC user. Do I have to purchase the software or can I just download it for my Mac?
Aaron
Welcome to the Light [H]. All you need to purchase is the Mac engine. Almost all your Logos resources will open, other than PBB. Many of the features that make the PC version valuable are not yet implemented on the Mac. If you need full functionality, you can still run the Windows version using VMWare Fusion or Parallels. If you need additional information, just ask.

Off Topic: I run VMware so that from time to time I can access some of the features in the Windows version of Logos. I upgraded on Friday to Snow Leopard and booted up my MBP with the 64 bit kernel. (the 32 bit kernel loads by default, so I had to manually tell it to do so) Everything worked brilliantly except VMware. When you start VMWare when you are running in full 64bit mode, you get a screen that tells you that it will only start up when you are running 32 bit. This was a big disappointment needless to say and another reason why I am really looking forward to ditching Windows all together! [:(]
I used windows for about 15 years and about a year ago I bought a Mac after a very frustrating year for Vista. I have never regretted the decision. I have a tonne of friends who have done the same and feel the same way. I hope that Microsoft gets Windows 7 right, because at least in my circle of friends, Vista was a bomb.
You have to purchase the Mac Engine for Logos. If you wish, you can set up something like VMware Fusion to run Windows and configure it so that both the Mac and Windows versions share the same library. I do this and it is useful at times when the Mac version doesn't do something I need. I just boot up windows on Fusion and run Logos for Windows... so I get the best of both worlds.
Our (us Mac users) hope is that when the next generation of Windows software for Logos comes out that the Mac programme catches up significantly or is of equal quality. Bob has said on these forums that is what they are aiming for. That said, Logos for Mac has made some improvements this year and we can't be too hard on it as it is less than a year old.
Donovan: could you send me instructions on how to boot Snow Leopard in 64 bit?
I've just returned home after 17 days of ministry travel. While I was gone, my upgrade copy of Snow Leopard arrived (I serve in Budapest, Hungary, so had to wait for the CD to be brought to me). I noted that you finally upgraded to Snow Leopard, so I will give it a go this weekend. (Any warnings, hints?)
I see that Logos 1.2.2. is available as well. Would you install this before or after upgrading to Snow Leopard????
Thanks.
Dorsey McIntosh
Hey Dorsey,
There are numerous ways to boot up with the 64 bit kernel. The easiest is a small programme which you can download here:
http://www.ahatfullofsky.comuv.com/English/Programs/SMS/SMS.html
Itwill do a check of your system to see if your computer is capable ofbooting the 64 bit kernel. Mine can and does just fine, but VMwareFusion will not run.For some reason VMware is behind the ball on this.So I am working hard to get away from the remaining Windows applicationthat I have so that I can stop running VMware completely. (btw -Parallels apparent does run with the 64 bit kernel, so VMware has somecatching up to do now)
Warnings? Make sure you backup your computer in case you find that Snow Leopard breaks something that you need. Now that it is a month after the release, most popular programmes have started to address any Snow Leopard related bugs. The big thing to make sure is that your printer driver(s) play nicely with Snow Leopard. Generally, it is good to look at every 3rd party application you have and visit their websites to see what they say about Snow Leopard.
Definitely install 1.2.2 for Mac as it has fixes for Snow Leopard.
Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.
Hi Dorsey,
Glad it went well for you. SL installed on my computer just fine as well.
I'll try the Web site for checking on 64 bit processing, but I'm pretty sure my kernel is running at 64 bit.
The only Macs that are booting the 64 bit kernel by default are servers. There's a fair bit of information about this on the web. If you are running SL, some of the apps you are running are 64 bit, but it is with the 32 bit kernel. So you are getting the benefits of 64 bit computing. However, in order to boot the 64 bit kernel, you need to manually tell your mac to do so... but before this will happen, you need to see if your machine is capable of doing so. I think only the latest unibody MBPs can do this if I recall.
To boot the 64 bit kernel, the information I gave in this thread will tell you how to do this with a GUI. The cool thing about the GUI is that it runs a check on your Mac to tell you whether or not it is capable of running the 64 bit kernel.
Complicated? Yes and there's a tonne written about this on the web!
