Download All Un-downloaded Books
I've recently discovered some of my resources aren't downloaded (e.g. I click on a resource in the Library view and find I have to download it). This means these resources haven't appeared in searches or when showing parallel (e.g. commentary) resources.
1) Is there a simple way I can tell logos - "download everything I own not downloaded yet"
2) less important - but what may have caused this to occur?

Hi,
In your library, you can choose the 'Not on this device' facet under the 'Devices' section in the left, and that will list them all. You can then Ctrl/CMD+A to select them all, and choose to download.
As to why, 'sometimes it happens' is my experience, no rhyme or reason. I seem to remember Faithlife in a thread somewhere about this or something similar saying they were struggling to replicate, and wanting logs, which is understandable as it happens so very infrequently....I might be wrong about this I will try to find old thread.

Thanks Kevin. Hard to find, but easy when you know how!
and the issue was worse than I thought, c. 1250 resources were not downloaded, 400 odd were!
I guess I'll need to start checking this from time to time.
4.0GB on the way down - thank goodness for fibre!

If everything is working as expected, the answer is either becasue 1) you chose a skinny install upon the original install OR 2) you changed the settings at a later date.
Make sure to check your system preferences to see that it is as you want. Feel free to post a screenshot of what you have if you have any questions.

I've never done a "skinny" install or changed my settings, which are:
In which case I'm afraid I don't understand why your resources weren't all automatically downloaded.

The "skinny" install is mistakenly/unknowingly choosen at times, but there have been a number of users who have said they weren't given the option. Obviously we don't know if they are correct or if it simply escaped thier notice. It is frustrating because we'd have to have someone meticiously document thier original installation to know for sure... which we don't ever have. I think there <may> be a bug, but who knows. [:s]
It may be helpful, however, to know which specific version of the app you are running.

I had 5 today to download out of perhaps 200+ resources from L10 launch day purchases, I never change my settings.
I will try to remember to save my Logos.log next time I purchase a package before reopening Logos, maybe there will be a helpful error in there.

Are you saying that you manually downloaded those not using a command? Are you sure this is related to the OP? It could be at least two other things:
- An update to any of those resources <OR>
- Resources unavailble on launch day which became availble today.

Hi just I am saying that there were 5 resources that did not download automatically along with the rest of the resources that did download automatically upon purchase on 10/10.
It is the same as OPs problem, and one I have experienced several times.
I don't check the 'Not on this device' facet often, maybe 3 or 4 times a year, but there is often a few books in there that have not downloaded for whatever reason, which I would have expected to download automatically, as every other book does.
1) If it was an update, they would not appear in 'Not on this device'.
2) If it just became available today, they would have downloaded automatically, besides which these are not new resources.
This is not a problem to me, I am used to it, and just manually download on the odd occasion that I notice there are resources that are in the 'Not on this device' option.
I had a quick look for the faithlife post I mentioned earlier in this thread, but could not find it, so think might be in L8/9 private beta forum, not searchable by google.

[Y] That wasn't clear (to me) in your post, but I concur. If those 5 resources were in the "not on this device" list, then they were certainly not updates (and already on your device).
If it just became available today, they would have downloaded automatically,
... If your settings are default like discussed above, then yes, they should have.
In the forums we somewhat regularly see issues where the user has changed the settings and the behavior they are experiencing is explained by this. The hardest ones to troubleshoot are often where the user has fiddled with the timing of the downloads (i.e. to run while they are sleeping). Their computers are ALSO sleeping at that time (so no downloads) and the "update now" command won't work becuase it is not during those times either.

I believe the new install engine defaults to Recommended ever since they implemented Cloud resources. I just did a full reinstall in August and the default option was Recommended and not full. That may have been how not all resources got downloaded. If you went with the default 'Recommended' option all your resources won't download, just a curated subset of resources would have downloaded.
